HOW TO USE YOUR CATALOG<br />
This catalog was developed for you.<br />
It includes information about Phoenix College programs, courses, degree requirements,<br />
policies, procedures, resources, and services.<br />
The focus of this catalog is on your success.<br />
It provides you with the information to be a successful student. It is your<br />
responsibility to review the information and use your catalog.<br />
We recommend that you use your catalog in the following ways.<br />
Use your catalog to help you with your plans to be a successful college<br />
student. Review the Academic Calendar, Graduation Requirements, and<br />
PC Programs. Prior to selecting your courses, make certain you have the<br />
time to meet the course requirements.<br />
Use your catalog to learn about courses and degree requirements. Knowing<br />
what the course is about and how it will fit into your program or academic<br />
goals is one of the main requirements for proper course selection Course<br />
Descriptions begin on page 221. Whether your goal is to complete one<br />
course or an Associate Degree, Course Descriptions will provide valuable<br />
information. If you are working on completing an Associate Degree, you will<br />
need to become familiar with the General Education Degree Requirements.<br />
Degree information begins on page 74. Degree checksheets to help you keep<br />
track of your progress are available in the Advisement Center. If you are<br />
planning on completing a degree, or selecting courses prior to transferring to<br />
a four- year college or university, you will find information on the Transfer<br />
Process (pages 103-112) very helpful.<br />
Now to Use Your Catalog<br />
Use your catalog to learn where and how to get things done. The catalog will<br />
help you locate resources and assist you in becoming familiar with college<br />
policies and procedures. Information is available about resources which can<br />
help you, such as Academic Advisement, Admissions and Records,<br />
Counseling and Career Services, Special Services, Financial Aid, the<br />
Learning Center, Library, and the Re-Entry Center. The Student<br />
Information section begins on page 6.<br />
Use your catalog to explore educational and career options available to you.<br />
The Counseling Department faculty will help you learn more about your<br />
interests, work skills, and personal goals.
