Level One - Immediate Supervisor<br />

Employees with a grievance will present it to <strong>the</strong>ir immediate supervisor ei<strong>the</strong>r orally or in<br />

writing within seven working days of <strong>the</strong> date of <strong>the</strong> occurrence causing <strong>the</strong> grievance or <strong>the</strong><br />

date <strong>the</strong> employee knew or should have known of <strong>the</strong> occurrence. The supervisor will attempt to<br />

resolve <strong>the</strong> grievance and report <strong>the</strong> response to <strong>the</strong> employee orally or in writing within seven<br />

working days of <strong>the</strong> presentation of <strong>the</strong> grievance.<br />

Level Two - _______________ Manager<br />

If an employee is not satisfied with <strong>the</strong> supervisor's response, <strong>the</strong> employee may present<br />

<strong>the</strong> grievance in writing to <strong>the</strong><br />

manager within three working days following <strong>the</strong><br />

supervisor's response or <strong>the</strong> date <strong>the</strong> supervisor's response was due. The written grievance<br />

will describe <strong>the</strong> grieved situation, tell why <strong>the</strong> employee feels it is unfair, unsafe, or incorrect,<br />

and tell what corrective action <strong>the</strong> employee feels should be taken. The<br />

manager will<br />

attempt to resolve <strong>the</strong> grievance and respond to <strong>the</strong> employee in writing within seven working<br />

days of <strong>the</strong> presentation of <strong>the</strong> grievance.<br />

Level Three - Board _________________<br />

If an employee is not satisfied with <strong>the</strong> manager's response, <strong>the</strong> employee may request,<br />

within three working days following <strong>the</strong> response or <strong>the</strong> date <strong>the</strong> response was due, that <strong>the</strong><br />

written grievance be presented to <strong>the</strong> board of . The employee may also ask to explain<br />

<strong>the</strong> grievance orally to <strong>the</strong> board. The employee may also ask that this explanation and <strong>the</strong><br />

board's deliberation on it be ei<strong>the</strong>r at a public meeting or at an executive session not open to <strong>the</strong><br />

public. The board will schedule a hearing and/or deliberation on <strong>the</strong> grievance to be held no<br />

later than <strong>the</strong> date of <strong>the</strong> next regular meeting of <strong>the</strong> board following receipt of <strong>the</strong> request and<br />

will present a written response to <strong>the</strong> employee within seven working days following <strong>the</strong><br />

hearing.<br />
