OPLAN “METRO YAKAL”<br />

‣ OPLAN “METRO YAKAL” shall embody a set of procedures <strong>and</strong><br />

guidelines in the conduct of preparatory <strong>and</strong> humanitarian response<br />

activities relative to an earthquake disaster by the personnel <strong>and</strong> units of<br />

the MMDA, MMDRRMC, <strong>and</strong> <strong>Metro</strong> LGUs, including their affiliates.<br />

‣ This Plan shall be in consonance with existing policies <strong>and</strong> strategies of<br />

government to reduce disaster risks <strong>and</strong> vulnerabilities of the country<br />

against natural hazards.<br />

‣ Oplan “<strong>Metro</strong> Yakal” shall complement efforts of the component<br />

local government units of <strong>Metro</strong> <strong>Manila</strong> during this type of disasters <strong>and</strong><br />

shall take into planning consideration possible support coming from<br />

other national agencies or regions, including foreign organizations <strong>and</strong><br />

private entities.


Task Force “Rainbow” shall install <strong>and</strong> follow an Incident Comm<strong>and</strong><br />

System (ICS) in carrying out its humanitarian assistance mission.<br />

Development of multi-disaster response services skills among the<br />

operating units <strong>and</strong> elements is encouraged to be more effective.
