Armhole Shaping
Cast off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows … 69 (73, 77, 81) sts.
Work 4 rows of stocking st.
Keeping patt correct, dec 1 st at each of this and foll 4th rows until 61 (65, 69, 71)
sts rem.
Cont without shaping until work measures 33 (35, 37, 39)cm from beg, ending with
a purl row.
Back Neck Shaping
K14 (16, 17, 18), turn.
Dec 1 st at neck edge (beg) of this and every row until 10 (12, 13, 14) sts rem.
Cont without shaping until work measures 36 (38, 40, 41)cm from beg, ending with
a purl row. Cast off rem 10 (12, 13, 15) sts.
Rejoin yarn to rem sts and cast off 33 (33, 35, 35) sts for centre back neck, knit to
end.
Dec 1 st at neck edge (end) of this and every row until 10 (12, 13, 14) sts rem.
Cont without shaping until work measures 36 (38, 40, 41)cm from beg, ending with
a knit row. Cast off rem 10 (12, 13, 15) sts.
LEFT FRONT
Using 5.50mm needles, cast on 37 (39, 41, 43) sts and commence stocking st with 1
x 1 Rib edge as foll:
Row 1(RS): Knit to last 7 sts, (P1, K1) 3 times, K1.
Row 2(WS): K1, (P1, K1) 3 times, purl to end.
Repeat last 2 rows until work measures 18 (19, 20, 21)cm, ending with a purl row.
Armhole Shaping
Cast off 2 sts at beg of next row … 35 (37, 39, 41) sts.
Work 5 rows of stocking st with rib edge.
Keeping patt correct, dec 1 st at beg of this and foll 4th rows until 31 (33, 35, 37) sts
rem.
Work 2 (4, 6, 8) rows.
Front Neck Shaping

Row 2(WS): Purl to last 7 sts, (K1, P1) 3 times, K1.
Repeat last 2 rows twice (once, twice, twice).
Buttonhole row: K2, P1, yfwd, P2tog, K1, P1, knit to end.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2, repeating Buttonhole row in every 14th (16th, 16th, 18th) row,
until work measures 18 (19, 20, 21)cm, ending with a WS row.
Armhole Shaping
Keeping Buttonhole spacing correct in every 14th (16th, 16th, 18th) row from last
buttonhole, cast off 2 sts at beg of next row ... 35 (37, 39, 41)sts.
Work 4 rows of stocking st with rib edge.
Keeping patt correct, dec 1 st at beg of this and foll 4th rows until 31 (33, 35, 37) sts
rem.
Work 3 (5, 7, 9) rows.
Front Neck Shaping
Cast off 12 (12, 13, 13) sts, knit to last 2 sts, K2tog.

SLEEVES – Make 2
Using 3.25mm needles cast on 51 (51, 53, 53) sts and work 1 x 1 rib as foll:
Row 1: (RS) K2, (P1, K1) to last st, K1.
Row 2: (WS) (K1, P1) to last st, K1.
Repeat last 2 rows for 10cm, ending with a WS row, inc 2 (4, 6, 8) sts evenly across
last row ... 53 (55, 59, 61) sts.
Change to 5.50mm needles and work 44cm of stocking st, ending with a purl row.
Shape Cap
Keeping patt correct, cast off 2 st at beg of next 2 rows ... 49 (51, 55, 57) sts.
Dec 1 st at each end of next and foll 4th rows until 33 (33, 35, 35) sts rem.Purl 1
row. Cast off rem sts.
BACK PEPLUM
Using 3.25mm needles cast on 154 (160, 168, 176) sts and work 2 rows of 1 x 1 rib
as foll:
Row 1: (RS) K2, (P1, K1) to last sts, K1.
Row 2: (WS) (K1, P1) to last sts, K1.
Change to 5.50mm needles and work 18 (18, 20, 20)cm of stocking st, ending with a
purl row. Cast off.
FRONT PEPLUM – Make 2
Using 3.25mm needles cast on 77 (81, 85, 89) sts and work 2 rows of 1 x 1 rib as for
Back Peplum.
Change to 5.50mm needles and work 18 (18, 20, 20)cm of stocking st, ending with a
purl row. Cast off.
NECK BAND
With right sides facing, pin and sew shoulder seams using a backstitch.
Using 3.25mm needles and starting at right front, knit up 36 (37, 39, 40) sts evenly
around right neck shaping, knit up 57 (59, 63, 65) sts evenly around back neck, knit
up 36 (37, 39, 40) sts evenly around left neck shaping … 129 (133, 141, 145) sts.
Work 4 rows of 1 x 1 rib as for sleeve, starting with a Row 2.
Buttonhole row: Rib to last 6 sts, cast off next 3 sts, rib to end.
Next Row: Rib 3, cast on 3 sts, rib cast on sts, rib to end.

Work 4 rows of 1 x 1 rib. Cast off loosely in rib.
FINISHING
With right sides facing, pin fronts to back at side seams and sew using a backstitch.
Pin and sew sleeve seams and set in sleeves. Join front peplum pieces to back
peplum at sides. Pin peplum to cast on edges of fronts and back, matching seams
and creating a gather. Sew using a backstitch. Weave in loose ends. Sew on buttons
to match buttonholes.
