Back Neck Shaping<br />

a purl row. Cast off rem 10 (12, 13, 15) sts.<br />
Rejoin yarn to rem sts and cast off 33 (33, 35, 35) sts for centre back neck, knit to<br />

Repeat last 2 rows twice (once, twice, twice).<br />
Buttonhole row: K2, P1, yfwd, P2tog, K1, P1, knit to end.<br />
Repeat Rows 1 and 2, repeating Buttonhole row in every 14th (16th, 16th, 18th) row,<br />
until work measures 18 (19, 20, 21)cm, ending with a WS row.<br />
Armhole Shaping<br />
Keeping Buttonhole spacing correct in every 14th (16th, 16th, 18th) row from last<br />
buttonhole, cast off 2 sts at beg of next row ... 35 (37, 39, 41)sts.<br />

SLEEVES – Make 2<br />
Using 3.25mm needles cast on 51 (51, 53, 53) sts and work 1 x 1 rib as foll:<br />
Row 1: (RS) K2, (P1, K1) to last st, K1.<br />
Row 2: (WS) (K1, P1) to last st, K1.<br />
Repeat last 2 rows for 10cm, ending with a WS row, inc 2 (4, 6, 8) sts evenly across<br />
last row ... 53 (55, 59, 61) sts.<br />
Change to 5.50mm needles and work 44cm of stocking st, ending with a purl row.<br />
Shape Cap<br />
Keeping patt correct, cast off 2 st at beg of next 2 rows ... 49 (51, 55, 57) sts.<br />
Dec 1 st at each end of next and foll 4th rows until 33 (33, 35, 35) sts rem.Purl 1<br />
row. Cast off rem sts.<br />
BACK PEPLUM<br />
Using 3.25mm needles cast on 154 (160, 168, 176) sts and work 2 rows of 1 x 1 rib<br />
as foll:<br />
Row 1: (RS) K2, (P1, K1) to last sts, K1.<br />
Row 2: (WS) (K1, P1) to last sts, K1.<br />
Change to 5.50mm needles and work 18 (18, 20, 20)cm of stocking st, ending with a<br />
purl row. Cast off.<br />
FRONT PEPLUM – Make 2<br />
Using 3.25mm needles cast on 77 (81, 85, 89) sts and work 2 rows of 1 x 1 rib as for<br />
Back Peplum.<br />
Change to 5.50mm needles and work 18 (18, 20, 20)cm of stocking st, ending with a<br />
purl row. Cast off.<br />
NECK BAND<br />
With right sides facing, pin and sew shoulder seams using a backstitch.<br />
Using 3.25mm needles and starting at right front, knit up 36 (37, 39, 40) sts evenly<br />
around right neck shaping, knit up 57 (59, 63, 65) sts evenly around back neck, knit<br />
up 36 (37, 39, 40) sts evenly around left neck shaping … 129 (133, 141, 145) sts.<br />
Work 4 rows of 1 x 1 rib as for sleeve, starting with a Row 2.<br />
Buttonhole row: Rib to last 6 sts, cast off next 3 sts, rib to end.<br />
Next Row: Rib 3, cast on 3 sts, rib cast on sts, rib to end.
Work 4 rows of 1 x 1 rib. Cast off loosely in rib.<br />
FINISHING<br />
With right sides facing, pin fronts to back at side seams and sew using a backstitch.<br />
Pin and sew sleeve seams and set in sleeves. Join front peplum pieces to back<br />
peplum at sides. Pin peplum to cast on edges of fronts and back, matching seams<br />
and creating a gather. Sew using a backstitch. Weave in loose ends. Sew on buttons<br />
to match buttonholes.
