1. INTRODUCTION – SRI LANKA CRICKET, YOUR PARTNER
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), successor to the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka
(BCCSL) at No.35, Maitland Place, Colombo 07, Sri Lanka, is the governing body for Sri
Lanka‟s most popular sport – Cricket.
Being the governing body of cricket in Sri Lanka, we function with the vision to develop
every facet of the game and strive to set an example to other Cricket Boards around the
world with our high standards and level of commitment towards the sport and our country.
We are located adjacent to the prestigious Singhalese Sports Club (SSC) overlooking its
picturesque international cricket venue.
Today in Sri Lanka, cricket appreciation at its best is hailed as a force of national unity, a
testament to the plural, multi-ethnic, multi-linguistic, and multi-religious country that we
are. Cricket is not just a sport; it is a way of life.
A banner under which we, as a nation, can unite – “One Country, One Passion, One
Team”.

2. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TWENTY20 TOURNAMENT (CLT20)
The inaugural Champions League Twenty 20 Tournament conducted by the Board of
Control for Cricket in India was held in October 2009 and Sri Lanka Cricket was invited to
participate in the tournament.
This tournament has been created so that the Champion Teams in the ICC Members
domestic Twenty20 tournaments are invited, to play against one another with the aim of
finding the best domestic Twenty20 team in the world.
The strong Wayamba Provincial Cricket Team who were the Champions of the Inter-
Provincial Twenty 20 Cricket Tournaments in 2008 and 2009 conducted by Sri Lanka
Cricket participated in this tournament.
In this year‟s CLT20 Tournament which will be held in South Africa in September 2010,
once again the Wayamba Provincial T20 Team will participate as they were this years
Champions well.
Provincial Cricket is the highest level of Domestic Cricket played in Sri Lanka where the
best players participate in 5 Provincial Teams.
For detailed information regarding SLC‟s Provincial Cricket Programme / Tournaments,
please refer Annexure 1.

3.WAYAMBA PROVINCIAL TEAM – CHAMPIONS OF THE INTER-
PROVINCIAL TWENTY20 TOURNAMENTS IN 2008, 2009 AND 2010
During the Inter-Provincial Cricket Season 2008, 2009 and 2010 three Twenty 20
Tournaments were conducted by SLC and the Wayamba Provincial Team emerged as
the Champions of all three tournaments.
This year‟s Wayamba Provincial T20 Squad consists of 18 Players who have
represented Sri Lanka at either National, A-Team or Under-19 level including the
former national Captain – Mahela Jayawardena.

4. INVITATION FOR SPONSORSHIP / PERIOD OF SPONSORSHIP
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is pleased to invite offers from interested parties to
secure :
(a) Team Sponsorship of the Wayamba Provincial T20 Cricket Team who are the
Champion Provincial Twenty 20 Team in Sri Lanka, which would participate in the
Champions League Twenty 20 Tournament in South Africa in September 2010.

(b) Title Sponsorship and Team Sponsorship of the five (05 ) Provincial Teams
participating in the following three (03) Inter-Provincial Tournaments in 2011,
combined / packaged with the above.

The Total Royalty Fee offered, to secure the above mentioned Sponsorship/s
should be indicated along with the proposed payment schedule.
The period of the said Sponsorship/s will be for 12 months, however offers for a
longer period could be considered.
Note : Due to M/s. Mobitel (Pvt) Ltd. being Sri Lanka Cricket‟s National Team
Sponsor, the “Telecommunications” services is a protected category and such any
other institutions in this category are not eligible to submit offers to secure the
sponsorship.
5.TEAM SPONSORSHIP BENEFITS
Sponsorship Benefits during the period of sponsorship is listed below.
(5.1) Use of the Official Title:
(a) The sponsor will be granted rights to use the term “Official Sponsor of the
Sri Lanka Cricket‟s Champion Provincial T20 Team participating in the
Champions League T20 Tournament 2009 in South Africa.” or the “Title
Sponsor / Provincial Team Sponsor of the Inter-Provincial Cricket
Tournaments 2011, Sri Lanka” depending on the category of sponsorship
secured.
(b) The sponsor‟ is entitled to state the official title in all it‟s stationery and
promotional literature during the period of sponsorship.
(5.2) Display of Logo on Cricket Clothing:
(a) Team Sponsor‟s corporate / brand Logo or Trade mark will be displayed on
all clothing worn by all members of the team whilst the team is „on‟ the field
during matches and in training clothing.
(b) Team Sponsor‟s logo would be sported by the team on the clothing in
addition to the logos of the series sponsor, clothing sponsor, country / SLC
and any other Co-sponsors.

(5.3) Media Exposure
As it is with international sports entertainment, this tournament is expected
to receive wide coverage via TV, Radio, press and Internet etc and the
sponsors will thereby receive wide local and international exposure through
all media during the CLT20 Tournament. In the case of the Inter-Provincial
Tournaments 2011Sri Lanka, the Finals will be telecasted live.
(a) The branding on the clothing would be captured by International TV
Broadcasters giving live coverage of the matches which are expected to be
broadcast live within Sri Lanka and other countries.
(b) The Print and Electronic media captures and features the Cricketers in
their Playing / Training clothing during practices and matches.
(c) The Cricketers are expected to participate in pre / post match
interviews in branded clothing, which are captured on TV / Press.
(d) The Cricketers participate in award ceremonies attired in branded
clothing and also at interviews by popular TV commentators to be seen by
viewers around the world.
(5.4) Promotional Activities
Sri Lanka Cricket will make available members of the Team/s during the
continuance of the Sponsorship for the sponsor‟s promotional activities in
the following manner.
(a) Attendance of the Team reasonably requested by the Sponsor for one
promotional activity per year. All associated costs will have to be borne by
the sponsor.
(b) Attendance of the players for one photographic session during the term
of the sponsorship in sporting apparel posing as a Team, once every twelve
(12) months. All associated costs will have to be borne by the sponsor.
(c) The sponsor with the prior written consent of Sri Lanka Cricket and the
Team members is entitled to use such photographs taken collectively of the
team in any of its promotional activities / advertisements in one campaign
per year.
(d) Sponsor is required to take prior written consent of the player and Sri
Lanka Cricket if it so wishes to use the photograph of any one individual
player/s in any promotional activities/ advertisements.

(e) The Sponsor is permitted to be use photographs taken collectively and
individually of the team, only for the express purpose of promoting the
Sponsor‟s products or services only.
(f) Team Sponsor may host at their cost one goodwill dinner / function
during this tournament, which shall be attended by Team Members.
(g) Each Team Member shall sign one cricket bat for the Sponsors, for its
archives and not for sale.
It must be understood that the availability of Team Members for such
promotional activities will be subject to training schedules, match
commitments which needs to be given preference.
(5.5) Other Benefits
The Team sponsor of the Wayamba Provincial Cricket Team will also be eligible
for the following additional benefits.
(a) One (01) ground runner („A‟ Boards) in size 20ft x 3ft display area, at
during all international matches played in Sri Lanka conducted by SLC during
the sponsorship period.
(b) One (01) ground runner („A‟ Boards) at each match venue in where the
team is participating in the tournament..
(c) Complimentary tickets not exceeding 15 per International match
conducted by SLC in Sri Lanka, 5 of which would be to the VIP enclosure,
with hospitality whenever provided.
(d) A free full-page advertisement in any official souvenir published for
inbound tours to Sri Lanka.
(e) Free Promotions / Selling rights for sponsors products provided it does
not compete with the protected categories of the Title Sponsor of Series
played in Sri Lanka and the National Team Sponsor ( Mobitel –
Telecommunications category ).
(f) The placement of „a web banner‟ on Sri Lanka Cricket website and
linkage of own website.
(g) Team Sponsor‟s branding on players materials bags.
The Title / Provincial Team Sponsor of the Inter-Provincial Tournaments 2011 Sri
Lanka will also be provided an extensive range of benefits.

6. CONTRACT AND TERMS OF PAYMENT
The sponsor shall enter in to a formal legal contract incorporating the above
benefits and Royalty payments + Taxes to Sri Lanka Cricket, envisaged as
follows or in a manner mutually acceptable.
Total Royalty Fee + Taxes to be paid on signing of contract.
7. STATEMENT OF COMPLIANCE
The bidder must comply with all clauses, sub-clauses and specifications adhering to
the format of this Invitation of Offers for Team Sponsorship and include a
Statement of Compliance in the proposal clearly indicating that the proposed
sponsorship offer comply with all such requirements.
8. ALTERNATIVE OFFERS
The bidder may propose additional benefits that they wish to offer SLC. However,
such additional benefits would only be considered in the evaluation of bids subject
to the bid complying with minimum requirements. SLC reserves the right to accept
or reject any such alternative offers without adducing any reason whatsoever.
9. SUBMISSION OF OFFERS
9.1 BIDDER
Bids shall only be submitted by the Organization / Company / Firm. The bid
must be signed by two officers of the Organization / Company / Firm who
have the necessary authority as per the Memorandum and Articles of
Association.
Offers submitted by third parties on behalf of clients would be considered
but the contract would be signed directly with the successful
sponsor/partner only.

10 SUBMISSION OF BIDS / PROPOSALS
All offers / bids / proposals shall be submitted / delivered in sealed
envelopes marked “ Bid for Sponsorship of SLC‟S Provincial T20 Champion
Cricket Team” and addressed to the Hony. Secretary, Sri Lanka Cricket,
No 35 Maitland Place, Colombo 7, Sri Lanka to reach on or before 3 rd
May 2010.
11 CURRENCY
All bids shall be made in United States Dollars (US$) or Sri Lanka Rupees.
12 PERIOD OF VALIDITY
All offers / bids / proposals shall be valid for a period of two months from
the final date of acceptance of bids.

ANNEXURE 1
PROVINCIAL CRICKET PROGRAMME IN SRI LANKA
Sri Lanka Cricket launched the Provincial Cricket Programme formally in Dcember
2007 with the following objectives in mind.
To harness the raw energy and the enthusiasm displayed by our youth and to
finesse it to create a force that will ignite and propel Sri Lanka to the top
of the cricketing world.
To enhance the quality and effectiveness of cricket and give players across
the country an equal opportunity to showcase their skills by improving
infrastructure at the Provincial & District levels and to create Centers of
Excellence that will offer the players access to latest coaching and training
methods.
In order to achieve the above, recognizing the need to have a highly competitive
Domestic Cricket Structure, it was decided to conduct the following tournaments
annually on a provincial basis.
It is believed that such a structure would enhance the quality and effectiveness of
cricket being played and give the players across the country an equal opportunity to
show their cricketing skills enabling them to be considered for participation at
national level. This would also enable young cricketers to play together with the
National Cricketers in these tournaments and develop their technique and
professionalism

Each Team / Province were assigned Base Stadium which are under SLC
Management and these function as Centres of Excellence, having a full time
Provincial Operations Manager, Physiotherapy Unit and services of qualified
Provincial / District Coaches.
