‘Response ability’ basically describes the ‘capability to respond’.
Only deep understanding based on the virtues concentrated
listening and precise observation enables an appropriate
response.
Approximately one fourth of all software projects fail, half of the
projects exceed time and budget due to a lack of ‘understanding’.
Since 1994, the rate of successful projects statistically stagnates
below one third.* Most problems occur right at the beginning due
to a lack of planning and clarity of what exactly is required by
whom at what time and from which supplier. Projects often exceed
their time lines and suffer from fluctuation of knowledgeable
employees and the subsequent loss of concepts and requirements.
Consequently it becomes almost impossible for the project leader
to steer a project within its set ‘boundaries’ and to complete it
successfully.
