Using this basic information, and based on the preferences<br />
expressed by the Thai participants, CIPM prepared a proposed<br />
itinerary and scheduled proposed meetings in Chicago, Detroit,<br />
Pittsburgh, Cleveland, New York,<br />
Atlanta, Fort Worth and Houston.<br />
Proposed meetings were scheduled with Chamber-of-Commerce type<br />
organizat, ions in the respective cities as well as proposed plant<br />
visits to factories and proposed meetings with banks and business<br />
firms.<br />
The itinerary and scheduling was worked out by CIPM in<br />
consultations with Paul Sithi-Amnuai and AID/W,<br />
but no contact<br />
could be mnde with Nny of the nrg n i'n.tions or business firms<br />
until the entire proposad progirni nod bLen submitted by Paul<br />
Sithi-Amnuai, and general approval was received from Dr.<br />
Amnuay<br />
in Bangkok.<br />
In a few instances tho personal plans and prearranged<br />
appointments of individul team members caused changes<br />
in the itinerary and scheduling, but as it developed later,<br />
many of the team members never conveyed to CIPM (or to AID/W,<br />
Paul Sithi-Amnuai, or Dr. Amnuay) their personal appointment<br />
schedule. O4any of the ThqI t,,Lm membrs left Bangkok early<br />
and proceeded to Europe to visit other countries en route to<br />
the United States, and consequently were neither informedrar<br />
consulted about their participation in the program until their<br />
