FIBRE REINFORCED FILTERED SHRINK-RESISTANT MORTAR
FOR CONCRETE REFURBISHMENT USING A MOULD
FIELD OF USE FOR 4 TH DIVISION PRODUCTS
PROBLEM
In the most serious cases of concrete refurbishment, when complete structural reinforcement
is required, it becomes necessary to use mortar of high resistance and fluidity which
may be poured into a mould.
DESCRIPTION
RESISTO FLUID is a ready-mixed mortar in powder
form ready to use, containing high resistan cement,
selected inert material, synthetic fibres and special
additives. With RESISTO FLUID a high fluidity mortar
is obtained, suitable for pouring into moulds.
FIELDS OF USE
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
BASE PREPARATION: Concrete surfaces must be
prepared in order to achieve good bonding of the RE-
SISTO FLUID mortar. It is therefore necessary to remove
any loose parts and treat area without good
consistency by chiselling, brushing or high power
pressure cleansing. Traces of oil, release agents, rust
and dirt in general must be removed. Any steelwork
which becomes visible must be cleaned and made
chemically non reactive by using cement mortar and
STRATO 4900 (see technical sheet). Saturate the area
but avoid excess surface water which must be removed
by compressed air or by mopping with a sponge.
MIX PREPARATION
The product is ready to use – just add the correct
quantity of water. Usually 3.2 litres to 25 Kg of RESI-
STO FLUID mortar are needed. It is advisable to mix
in a cement mixer by first putting in 2/3 of the necessary
water, then gradually adding the dry product and
finally the remaining water. Mix for a maximum of 3
minutes until a uniform paste without lumps is achieved.
Always mix small quantities of mortar using a
mechanical mixer; it is not sufficient to mix with a
trowel. During preparation excessive air intake is to
be avoided.
APPLICATION
RESISTO FLUID is poured into the moulds from one
side only with a continuous flow to encourage any air
to escape. So that the moulds do not absorb water
RESISTO FLUID mortar is used to refurbish concrete
floors and for the structural rebuilding of pillars, columns
and concrete beams. RESISTO FLUID is excellent
for use in cases where a consistent structural refurbishment
is required for which a mould will be necessary.

COVERAGE
PRECAUTIONS
• Do not expose the material to the sun in hot
weather.
• Use cold water in summer and of approx. 20°C in
winter.
• Minimum applications temperature +5°C.
METHOD OF USE
from the mix, they must be treated with DISARMFER
or DISARMWOOD release agents. With RESISTO
FLUID it will not be necessary to subject the casting
to mechanical vibrations but it is advisable to use
wooden fillets to facilitate the flow of the mortar into
areas which are particularly difficult to reach. The restored
surfaces must be properly seasoned and, if necessary
protected from the heat and the cold and
from vibration or other dynamic action while setting
takes place. During seasoning, and especially in ventilated
surroundings, the mortar must be protected
and constantly kept wet to avoid rapid dehydration.
This treatment is carried out by spraying water mist
onto the surface during the first 24 hours of hardening
of the mortar or by spreading out on the surface of the
mortar special anti-evaporant protection. Ratio: approx.
3.2 litres of water per 25 Kg of RESISTO FLUID.
Maximum advisable thickness: 10 cm. Higher thickness
may be reached using granulous sand (3-8 mm)
in a percentage of 20-30%.

• Do not add water once the mix has started to set.
• Do not add other materials to RESISTO FLUID such
as cement or additives.
• In hot weather keep the surface of the applied mortar
dampfor at least 24 hours.
• Store in a dry place.
SAFETY REGULATIONS
• While mixing protect lungs with suitable mask.
• Protect hands and eyes with gloves and goggles.
• In case of contact with the eyes, immediately wash
thoroughly with clean running water.
