MONITOR OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS<br />

ADULT/ NEONATE OPERATING MODE<br />

NIBP and Temperature functions are affected by changing between ADULT and NEONATE<br />

operating modes.<br />

IMPORTANT:<br />

Prior to patient monitoring, ensure the monitor is configured to the appropriate patient mode –<br />

Neonate or Adult. Refer to Page 100, SELECTING THE PATIENT MODE for more information.<br />

Once power has been applied, a visual indicator, located on the front panel of the monitor,<br />

indicates the current operating mode.<br />

The monitor’s operating mode may also be set when the monitor power is being turned “ON”.<br />

The factory default is the Adult mode. To set the <strong>CASMED</strong> <strong>740</strong> <strong>Monitor</strong> to the Neonate mode,<br />

press and hold the ARROW DOWN pushbutton while turning monitor power “ON”. The Neonate<br />

visual indicator will be displayed on the Main display.<br />

To set the <strong>CASMED</strong> <strong>740</strong> <strong>Monitor</strong> to the Adult mode, press and hold the ARROW UP pushbutton<br />

while turning monitor power “ON”. The Adult visual indicator will be displayed on the Main<br />

display.<br />

The monitor will operate in the mode selected until it is changed.<br />

TURNING THE <strong>CASMED</strong> <strong>740</strong> MONITOR “ON”<br />

Press the ON/STANDBY pushbutton on the front panel to turn the monitor “ON”.<br />
