8) After the temperature measurement is complete, remove the probe from the patient’s<br />

axilla and eject the probe cover by firmly pressing the ejection button on the probe.<br />

Properly dispose of the used probe cover per protocol.<br />

9) Insert the probe into the probe holder before attempting to take another temperature<br />

measurement. An audible “click” should be heard when the SureTemp® probe is<br />

completely placed into its holder. The SureTemp Plus® probes will slide in and out of<br />

the Probe Well without any restrictions.<br />

NOTE:<br />

Failure to correctly place the probe back into its holder may result in failure of the next predictive<br />

temperature measurement.<br />

10) Following a completed temperature measurement, the current temperature<br />

measurement is displayed for five (5) minutes after which time the TEMP display will<br />

go blank.<br />

INSERTING & REMOVING PROBE WELL (SureTemp Plus® Only)<br />

CAUTION:<br />

When replacing a SureTemp Plus probe, it is recommended to replace the Probe Well received<br />

with the probe. Failure to replace the Probe Well could result in patient cross contamination.<br />

1) To insert – Position the Probe Well with the flat sides toward the front and rear of the<br />

monitor. Slide the Probe Well into the opening at the top of the Temperature module.<br />

Push the Probe well all the way down the opening. An audible “click” should be<br />

heard when the Probe Well is completely placed into its holder. Refer to Figure 12.<br />

2) To remove – Grasp the Probe Well by the flared ring. Gentle pull the Probe Well<br />

straight up and continue until the Probe Well is completely out of the opening. Refer<br />

to Figure 12.<br />
