9. EXTERNAL PRINTER<br />

The following section is provided as an overview of the Citizen CMP-10 Mobile Printer as it is<br />

used with the <strong>CASMED</strong> <strong>740</strong> <strong>Monitor</strong>.<br />

NOTE:<br />

The Citizen Model CMP-10 Mobile Printer that is used with the <strong>CASMED</strong> <strong>740</strong> <strong>Monitor</strong> has<br />

proprietary software installed in it for communications.<br />

NOTE:<br />

For more detailed information on the Citizen Model CMP-10 Mobile Printer, refer to the User’s<br />

Manual that was supplied with the printer.<br />

WARNING:<br />

The <strong>CASMED</strong> <strong>740</strong> <strong>Monitor</strong> has been tested with the Citizen CMP-10 Mobile printer to comply<br />

with IEC 60601-1-1 and is the only printer that is recommended to be used with the monitor. If<br />

another printer is to be used, the user must read the Warning on Page 40 under LEAKAGE<br />

CURRENT TEST and follow the guidance given.<br />

PRINTER OVERVIEW<br />

The Citizen CMP-10 Mobile Printer interfaces to the <strong>CASMED</strong> <strong>740</strong> <strong>Monitor</strong> via an infrared IrDA<br />

port or by using the direct connect RS232 cable (supplied with printer). The IrDA ports are<br />

located on the top of the printer and on the bottom front panel of the <strong>CASMED</strong> <strong>740</strong> <strong>Monitor</strong>.<br />

When using the IrDA port, it is important to keep the two devices close together (less than three<br />

(3) feet/one (1) one meter) and in-line to maintain proper communications.<br />

CAUTION:<br />

For safe and proper usage of the external printer, please observe the following:<br />

When using the printer:<br />

• Avoid placing monitor in areas where fluid may enter the printer opening accidentally.<br />

• Do not drop or bump the monitor.<br />

• Avoid places subject to high or low temperature extremes.<br />

• Avoid direct sunlight.<br />

• Avoid dusty places and where corrosive gasses are generated.<br />

• Never attempt to dismantle or repair the printer mechanism.<br />

When handling the thermal paper:<br />

• Store in a dark, cool and dry place.<br />

• Do not place near organic solvents.<br />

• Avoid contact with vinyl chloride films erasers or adhesive tapes for extended periods.<br />

• Avoid exposure to high temperature, humidity, liquid, or sunlight.<br />

• Always use specified thermal paper (CAS P/N 28-02-0077).<br />
