<strong>CASMED</strong> <strong>740</strong> <strong>Monitor</strong>s<br />

NOTE:<br />

The loss of a pulse signal can occur in any of the following situations:<br />

• a blood pressure cuff is inflated on the same extremity as the one with the SpO 2 sensor<br />

attached<br />

• excessive ambient light such as from a surgical lamp, a bilirubin lamp, or sunlight<br />

• the patient has hypotension, severe vasoconstriction, severe anemia, or hypothermia<br />

• the patient is in cardiac arrest or is in shock<br />

• the sensor is too tight<br />

• there is arterial occlusion proximal to the sensor<br />

If the SpO 2 Module located inside the <strong>CASMED</strong> <strong>740</strong> <strong>Monitor</strong> should fail, the message “Err” will<br />

appear in the %SpO 2 display window.<br />

Press the SILENCE/RESET pushbutton. The monitor silences the audio alarm tone, but the<br />

message remains.<br />

Should any of the above problems persist, contact your dealer or CAS Medical Systems, Inc.<br />

TEMPERATURE FUNCTION USER MESSAGES<br />

If the probe becomes unattached to the <strong>CASMED</strong> <strong>740</strong> <strong>Monitor</strong>’s rear panel connector, the<br />

message “Prb” is shown in the TEMP display window.<br />

NOTE:<br />

Press the SILENCE/RESET pushbutton to clear the TEMP display.<br />

If the Temperature probe well is removed from the top of <strong>CASMED</strong> <strong>740</strong> <strong>Monitor</strong>’s Temperature<br />

module, the message “Prb” is shown in the TEMP display window.<br />

NOTE:<br />

Press the SILENCE/RESET pushbutton to clear the TEMP display.<br />

When an attached probe is removed from the probe holder, the message OrL, ALy or rEC is<br />

shown briefly in the TEMP display window indicating the predictive algorithm is being used by<br />

the Temperature function.<br />

When the message “Err XX”, where “XX” is an Error Number, is displayed in the TEMP display<br />

window an error condition has occurred and a reliable temperature reading could not be<br />

obtained.<br />

NOTE:<br />

Press the SILENCE/RESET pushbutton to clear the TEMP display.<br />

Temperature Error Codes for more information.<br />

Verify the monitor’s operating environment is within its limits and start the procedure from the<br />

beginning.<br />
