8 Pressure drop<br />

The measurem<strong>en</strong>t of the pressure drop ∆p was carried out with water as<br />

fluid up <strong>to</strong> a flow rate of 969 kg/h.The inlet temperature of the water was<br />

20 ◦ C. The measurem<strong>en</strong>t has be<strong>en</strong> carried out up <strong>to</strong> the flow rate 969 kg/h.<br />

The reason for the high number of measurem<strong>en</strong>t points at a low flow rate is<br />

giv<strong>en</strong> by <strong>EN</strong> <strong>12975</strong>-2:<strong>2006</strong>. Five measurem<strong>en</strong>ts of differ<strong>en</strong>t flow rates in<br />

the range of 18 kg/h m 2 <strong>to</strong> 108 kg/h m 2 are necessary. The measurem<strong>en</strong>ts<br />

were performed up <strong>to</strong> a much higher value <strong>to</strong> increase the accuracy of the<br />

parameters. Also, these flow rates are closer <strong>to</strong> flow rates occuring in<br />

collec<strong>to</strong>r fields.<br />

The pressure drop ∆p in mbar can be described by the follwing function of<br />

the mass flow x in kg/h:<br />

∆p = 0.005 ∗ x + 1.187 ∗ 10 −5 ∗ x 2<br />
