“Like a dream come
true…” It’s only a cliché
until you experience it
yourself!
OUR THEORY OF
Keyif... It’s written all over this happy
participant’s face and getting it there is what
Gemini is all about.
What keyif means in Turkish is pretty much impossible to express
in one English word. Keyif is an essence that can come from a wild
party or a religious ceremony, a serene evening boat cruise or a
fine meal. Keyif can be rendered,
variously, as enjoyment, delight,
entertainment, well-being, serenity,
ecstasy, or enchantment, but none
of these words really captures the
essence of keyif.
At Gemini Tourism, we call the end
result of what we do keyif, because
we believe it encompasses the full
range of light-heartedness and seriousness that it’s our job to
create. Whether it’s a conference, an incentive or a special event,
what we do needs to be as much fun as a great party and as
productive as a successful meeting.
In other words, in conference and incentive travel, keyif is serious
business. Belief in the tangible business value of fun is the entire
premise of meeting, conference and incentive travel. Why travel
halfway around the world to do team building or launch a product?
Because you know the delight and adventure, the keyif, of travel
motivates your staff in a way that a straight bonus or an on-thejob
workshop simply cannot. Employers that choose incentive
travel appreciate the fact that the experience and fun of travel has
a unique ability to make employees happier and more productive,
which makes their businesses run better. Naturally, we couldn’t
agree more.
Which is why we’ve turned the art of purposeful fun into the science
of keyif, embodied in the three principles of the Gemini Tourism
Theory of Keyif…
From the luxurious to the outrageous,
from the relaxing to the adrenalinefueled,
Turkey has all kinds of keyif
in store for your participants.
We put your guests in the spotlight, making
them center stage for everything we do,
focusing on the new, interesting, motivating
and fun.
Just kick back and enjoy,
because a Turkish
waterpipe turns everyone
into a happy pasha.
THE HAVE-YOUR-CAKE
-AND-EAT-IT-TOO PRINCIPLE
You’ve heard it said that “You can’t have your cake and eat it too.”
If you’re German, you know this as “Man kann nicht auf zwei
Hochzeiten tanzen,” and, if you’re French, you’d say “On ne peut
avoir le beurre et l’argent du beurre.”
Well, no offense to the folk wisdom of some of the world’s greatest
civilizations, but we at Gemini call that seriously limited thinking.
When you work with us, our
objective is to show you that this
seemingly universal principle
doesn’t have to apply…
Think that to plan an event or
program that goes off without a
hitch you have to settle for a
familiar location and activities that
have been done a million times?
Think that if you go for something spectacular and exotic you’re
risking looking unprofessional?
Gemini’s answer? Think again.
Offering you tailor-made events, the different, the unusual,
the striking, featuring fun activities and breath-taking entertainment
in beautiful and exotic locations, all with our guarantee of
professionalism and viability, is what we’re all about.
Think you can’t? We know you can!
As important as the places for keyif are
the faces that help you enjoy it, friendly,
helpful, part of a centuries-old tradition
of uniquely warm and welcoming
Turkish hospitality.
All together now…
Because that’s what it’s all
about, doing things,
building bonds,
experiencing keyif,
together...
THE NO-GUEST
-LEFT-BEHIND PRINCIPLE
Whether it’s uniquely Turkish or simply
exquisitely sophisticated, Turkey has it all and
Gemini is the perfect guide.
Having what we think are pretty
sound ideas about the things that
make for successful events,
conferences, incentives and
product launches, not to mention
a lot of experience and a Theory
of Keyif is a big plus. But after all
the hard work and the good times,
how do you measure the success
of your events?
One test we use is the “No-Guest-Left-Behind
Principle.” For us success means ensuring every
guest has fun, is engaged and entertained. Achieving that
depends on learning as much as we can about your group, company
and expectations. It means giving you tons of options and alternatives
in the planning stage and then developing those in line with the
feedback we get from you. It also means creating a balance of
different activities to suit participants’ different styles and even
offering a choice of alternative activities for participants during the
event itself.
But none of these can replace the Gemini team’s active, involved,
hands-on presence from the earliest phases of the planning process
all the way through to the end of the program. And this is one of
the key things that separates mediocre incentive and conference
travel planners from the fantastic ones. From day-one of the
planning process until you get on the plane to go home, we’re
ready to respond to any special need or request. Because, the way
we see it, it’s our job to take each and every one of your guests on
what we like to think of as a unique keyif journey… By the way,
the test works just as well when we apply it to ourselves…
We know we’re on the right track when we get excited and
experience lots of keyif while we’re designing your program!
Rolling out the red carpet at an
Ottoman palace is just where we start
when it comes to ensuring your
participants have an unforgettably
good time in Turkey.
Keyif ’ s natural habitat is everywhere you want
to be, in elegant urban settings or at one with
nature, all you need is to desire to find it.
Remember, one of the
best ways to enjoy some
real keyif is to seriously
pamper yourself with
something special.
NEVER STANDS STILL
What distinguishes keyif from just ordinary amusement, the truly
unforgettable from the merely memorable?
Keyif is kind of like a kaleidoscope, always changing, in flux, an
eternally shifting rainbow of sensations, pleasures, impressions
and experiences. You can’t grab it and pin it down, you’ve got to
keep changing and stay in motion to keep up with it. And again,
we believe this is one of the single most important things that sets
apart a truly outstanding DMC – the desire – the compulsion even
– to be in constant motion, pushing ahead toward new, more
creative ideas. In this business, there are so many factors to think
about – and leaving well enough alone is not in our nature… Okay,
we admit it – we’re perfectionists.
Because keyif comes from fresh ideas and a passion for the details.
That’s why every program we create has its own individual
personality – with everything planned and coordinated from scratch,
every time.
So we personally oversee each and
every detail, from place-settings
and floral arrangements to lighting
and sound equipment. Once we’ve
planned a conference, incentive or
special event that promises to be
unforgettable, well, that’s just the
beginning. We’re with you from
start to finish, ready to respond to
special needs and the unexpected,
not to mention things like refolding a few napkins and personally
inspecting the turn-down service to make sure everything is
flawless. We admit it’s harder work this way, but for us the
standing ovations we get from our clients make it all
worthwhile.
With Gemini and the theory of keyif,
successful events don’t have to be a
balancing act between the exciting and
the safe -- our high-wire artistry keeps
you high above the ordinary…
Where theory meets
practice... Another
successful tailor-made
event.
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
So, we’ve told you a little bit about our Theory of Keyif. Now we
bet you’d like to know a whole lot more about how it works in
practice.
Down to the smallest details, we personally
plan and inspect every aspect of your event
to ensure your participants get the best of
everything.
To tell you the truth, if we’re going to give you a closer look at
what we do at Gemini and how we go about doing it, there’s only
one place to start: Turkey. Along with the terrific team at Gemini,
Turkey itself is our biggest asset. Sure, we get compliments on our
creativity, but where our talents
really lie is in harnessing Turkey’s
incredible potential and shaping it
into great events.
From the crystal waters of the
Mediterranean and the cobalt
Bosphorus to the savor of kebabs
and delicious fresh fish… From the
haunting strains of dervish music
and the pulsing beat of nightclubs to the caress of a sea breeze
and the tight, colorful weaves of tribal kilims … Turkey is a feast
for the all senses. And it’s those senses that together create the
incredible experience we like to call keyif…
But those experiences don’t just happen by themselves. Creating
events that give people keyif takes an eye for detail, a taste for
hard work, an ear for the unusual and most of all, a human touch.
In fact, you might say that we have a sixth sense when it comes
to keyif, one that helps us not only to find it but to find the best
ways to share it with you and your guests.
The performing arts, the culinary arts,
they’re all a part of the art of Turkish
hospitality and we invite you to a living
art show, with Gemini…
The poetry of the past is
alive in Turkey from
Ephesus to Istanbul where
amazing monuments
become the scene for your
great events.
SENSE AND SENSIBILITY... HOW WE
ARRIVED AT THE THEORY OF
In Istanbul the emphasis is on the elegant and
unexpected as your guests enjoy spectacular
special events beside the Bosphorus.
Fifteen years ago, Gemini’s Theory of Keyif was just a hypothesis,
an idea taking shape and being refined with experience. In the
process of organizing major events, not just meetings but entire
festivals, we learned more about what keyif is and about how to
create it. In fact, we developed our
theory in the light not just of
European conference and incentive
participants but also on the basis
of our experience working with one
of the world’s most demanding
markets: Japan. The truth is, we
got so good at helping our
Japanese guests discover keyif that
we became one of the leaders in
Japanese market and, in conjunction with our Japanese partner,
established Club Tourism in Turkey. We also developed strong
relationships with Turkey’s leading suppliers from hotels and yachts
to convention and exhibition centers and the country’s finest
restaurants.
Think you can’t possibly afford your
dream event? Turkey’s options and
Gemini’s buying clout put the best
within reach.
These relationships were built on trust and a shared passion for
doing things better, and that continues to be the foundation for
those relationships and all our new relationships. Because we
believe in working with people who share our passion not just for
excellence but for creating keyif and for the new and exciting.
And that has allowed us to build a reputation for doing things just
a little bit differently and, we’d like to think, better.
Actually, what we realized is that it’s a matter of, with all due respect
to Jane Austen, sense and sensibility. Sense because keyif is all
about the senses and the pleasure they give, about perception and
experience. Sensibility because it takes a special understanding
and a special way of doing things to design the environments and
occasions that create keyif.

GEMINI TOURISM / ISTANBUL
The Gemini Family
We have been together for
a long time. We’re a group
who are dedicated to keyif,
that is so making sure you
and your participants have
a great time. It’s hard work,
of course, but our mission
is to make it look like child’s
play. We’re proud of all that
Turkey has to offer and we
take pride in what we do.
This is a people business,
and we’re firm believers in
the importance of the
personal touch. That’s why
we put in long hours and go
the extra mile to create
unique events and design
truly memorable
experiences.
