Home to more than 30,000 protected animals; the Ngorongoro
Crater is an area of spectacular beauty and excellent game
viewing. Once a colossal volcano, Ngorongoro is now the
largest intact caldera in the world. Visit the fresh springs and large
soda lake that quench the thirst of inhabitants. Gaze in awe at
the black rhino that are protected within its rim, the giant tusked
elephants that wander the forests, the black-maned lions that stalk
the grasslands and the pink flamingos that crowd the soda lakes.
DAY three MNEMBA ISLAND, ZANZIBAR
Surrounded by an impossibly blue ocean, the pristine white
beaches of Mnemba turn this intimate island into a private
tropical paradise. Dazzling sands and brilliant sunshine invite
you to spend idle hours on shore, whilst magnificent coral reefs
create an underwater wonderland that lures you to explore
the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Dive or snorkel
in search of colourful marine life, try your hand at some catch
and release fishing, indulge in a decadent massage or simply
choose to do nothing at all. After sunset, keep an eye out for
the endangered green turtles that come ashore to lay their
eggs in the sand.
Thailand
Trails of Indochina
Whichever facet of Thailand attracts you, one thing is
constant – the Thai concept of ‘sanuk’, having a good
time in everything you do. It’s why so many people
return to the country time and time again!
DAY ONE Bangkok
Depart in the morning for the most important of all Thai monuments,
The Royal Grand Palace – the most un-missable sight in all of
Bangkok. It was built in 1782 by King Rama I, after he moved the
capital from Thonburi to Bangkok. From the18th century onwards
it has served as the residence of the early Chakri Dynasty Kings.
The complex houses not only the Royal residence and throne halls,
but also government offices and the renowned Wat Phra Kaew,
containing the Emerald Buddha, the symbol of the country. Enjoy
an entertaining and informative guided visit and be amazed by the
opulence and splendour of the dazzling architecture.
DAY two Chiang Mai
Enjoy a family atmosphere and share cooking secrets with a
well known local chef. His passion for cooking and feedback
on his cooking skills from travellers made him set up an organic
farmhouse where he now takes care of a spacious garden full
of Thai herbs and tropical fruits. First visit the local Ruamchook
market with the chef. At the chef’s farm home, visit his organic
garden, pick some fresh herbs and continue with a hands-on
cooking experience where you will experience how to pound
curry paste and how to make authentic Thai curry. Create a
dessert with the sweet fruits you picked right from the trees.
DAY three Koh Samui
The deep blue waters of the Gulf of Thailand are ideal for game
or sports fishing. Board a local covered fishing boat. Fish that can
be typically found around Koh Tan and Koh Mudsum includes
Barracuda, Sharks, Snapper, Cobia, Mackerel, Grouper and
Travally. Your captain knows the places around Koh Samui very
well and may decide based on weather conditions where to
anchor the boat. Equipment is available on board or you may
bring your own. Spend the entire day looking for the perfect catch.
