Campus Life acts as the as the primary <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> advocacy for female students at <strong>Illinois</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Technology</strong>. This department helps students by providing innovative opportunities for scholarship,<br />
leadership and activism all while exploring the interconnections <strong>of</strong> race, gender, sexual orientation, culture,<br />
ability, spirituality and many other areas that make up our rich individual experiences. This multifaceted<br />
perspective gives students opportunities to build knowledge and skills while supporting diversity and<br />
equality on campus.<br />
The <strong>of</strong>fice provides resources, history, opportunities, programs and general information that address<br />
matters <strong>of</strong> particular concern to women. We welcome everyone who is committed to gender equity and<br />
social change.<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s may use the sign-up sheets on the doors <strong>of</strong> SH 232 and 233 to reserve a specific time. When<br />
possible, the Writing Center also accepts students on a walk-in basis without an appointment.<br />
Writing Center Faculty tutors provide help with writing assignments for both graduate and undergraduate<br />
students, whether they are native or nonnative speakers <strong>of</strong> English. The tutors are especially trained to<br />
work with students for whom English is a second language. Their one-on-one instruction focuses on the<br />
specific needs <strong>of</strong> the individual student.<br />
