As the steward <strong>of</strong> institutional academic information and student records the Registrar’s Office serves<br />

students, faculty, staff and alumni. This <strong>of</strong>fice provides accurate, timely and secure information to support<br />

and enforce academic policy, registration, grading, course information, the production <strong>of</strong> diplomas, <strong>of</strong>ficial<br />

transcripts, FERPA elections, U-Pass administration, and other related university functions. Hours <strong>of</strong><br />

operation are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. M-F .<br />

The Office <strong>of</strong> Residence and Greek Life at <strong>Illinois</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Technology</strong> accommodates student housing,<br />

summer conferences, and guest housing. Residence and Greek Life focuses on developmental<br />

experiences and quality living environments for its residential communities to complement their academic<br />

experiences at IIT.<br />

There are seven residence halls and two apartment buildings in which 1600 students make their “home<br />

away from home” as they pursue their education. The residence halls <strong>of</strong>fer a focused and dynamic living<br />

and learning environment. In addition, Residence and Greek Life coordinates operational efforts with the<br />

10 Greek chapters on campus.<br />

First year students not living with a parent or legal guardian must live in the residence halls. Rates,<br />

options, and other campus housing information are available through the Residence and Greek Life<br />

website.<br />

Department Mission:<br />

Residence and Greek Life empowers residential students by providing leadership opportunities and<br />

support services that foster community development, academic success, and personal growth. The<br />

department provides a quality living environment and developmental learning opportunities which<br />

promotes the well-being <strong>of</strong> campus residents and guests through well maintained facilities,<br />

accommodations, and holistic programs.<br />

Carman Hall (CA)<br />

Carman Hall is an apartment community for families, partners, graduate students, and undergraduate<br />

students over the age <strong>of</strong> 23. Residents have the option <strong>of</strong> furnished studio or 2-bedroom apartment.<br />

Gunsaulus Hall (GU)<br />

Gunsaulus Hall is an apartment community for Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate students. Residents have<br />

the option <strong>of</strong> furnished studio, 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom apartments.<br />

McCormick <strong>Student</strong> Village (MSV)<br />

MSV is comprised <strong>of</strong> six interconnected residence halls that provide an opportunity to connect and interact<br />

with a variety <strong>of</strong> people on a daily basis. The typical MSV residence hall room is a traditional double room<br />

(two students per room).<br />

State Street Village<br />

SSV is the newest residence hall at IIT. SSV consists <strong>of</strong> three, five-story buildings facing State Street and<br />

backing up to the Chicago Transit Authority’s Green Line elevated train. The buildings contain 367 beds in<br />

two suite style buildings (two students per bedroom) and one apartment-style building (one student per<br />

bedroom) with rooms for 1, 2, 3, or 6 students.<br />

Greek Housing<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s are also able to live in Chapter Houses, should they choose to join a Fraternity or sorority, after<br />

living in a residence hall for at least one semester.<br />
