Audio equipment such as laptops, TV/VCRs, projectors, and sound systems are available for rental to
student organizations and university departments for a fee from the Campus and Conference Centers.
Contact the Campus and Conference Centers through the Welcome Desk at extension 7.3700 for more
information.
Bicycles, Roller-skates and Skateboards
All persons riding bicycles on campus are encouraged to park at the bike racks provided outside of
campus buildings. Parking bicycles in the public areas of buildings or chaining them to stairway railings is
prohibited. Bicycles found unattended in a building or creating a safety hazard anywhere on campus are
subject to removal by the Public Safety Department. The use of bicycles, skateboards or roller-skates of
any kind in any university building is prohibited.

The Bog is the campus pub, and recreation center. Operated by the Campus and Conference Centers in
partnership with IIT Dining Services, there is plenty of entertainment through the academic year including
Union Board programming. Academic year hours are Thursday, Friday from 5:00 pm to 1:00 am. Look for
special events in the Bog.

A complete line of books, supplies, architecture/engineering equipment, and IIT gifts and clothing are
available in the IIT Main Campus, Barnes and Noble Bookstore. The Bookstore is normally open 9:00
a.m.- 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Friday, and 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on
Saturday. Hours are extended at the beginning of each semester. The Bookstore is located in the
McCormick Tribune Campus Center.

The Campus Information Center, located in Room 106 of the McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC),
is the central location for information and one of two locations (along with Public Safety in Farr Hall) for
lost-and-found items on campus. Staff is available seven days a week (excluding some holidays) to
answer questions about campus events, to provide campus phone numbers, give directions, and to assist
with information about public transportation. The Campus Information Center sells discounted Loews
Cineplex movie tickets and rents PO Boxes, lockers, and recreation equipment.

The Office of Campus Life supports all student organizations. The office assists students with program
planning, implementation, leadership development, and organizational advising. Campus Life also acts as
the as the primary office of advocacy for women and LGBT students. The office partners with a variety of
campus partners to facilitate Orientation and Parent Programs, Women’s Services, and the First Year
Experience (FYE).

Located in Hermann Hall, this office provides a comprehensive series of services designed to assist
students and alumni in the areas of career information, exploration and implementation. Programs and
services offered include career advising, cooperative education and internship programs, coordination of
an on-campus recruiting program for graduating students, and coordination of an online job search
database to provide students with assistance in finding job opportunities. Additionally, the office offers
workshops on job search skills, resume writing, and interviewing skills throughout the school year. The
office also sponsors job fairs during the fall and spring semesters.
