INDIAN INSTITUTION OF PLANT ENGINEERS (IIPE)
IIPE is a premier and a prestigious professional body of Plant Engineers dedicated to improve the effectiveness of
Plant and machinery. The Institution’s main objectives are on acquiring and disseminating knowledge about various
challenges of the maintenance community, developing sustainable solutions, translating cutting edge technologies,
concepts and techniques optimizing logistic pause in operational functions of large industrial plants. It promotes
maintenance consciousness and upgrade individual skill sets among all stakeholders.
The Institution’s activities cover wide range from organising programmes for plant managers, education, training,
publication of technical journal, certifi cation to consulting services etc. It functions through 26 Chapters / Centers
spread across the country and six divisions, to address specifi c areas of activities.
ADVANCED MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT
PROGRAMME (AMMP). The AMMP is a division of
IIPE that conducts annual residential programmes for plant
managers to focus on current and emerging maintenance
management practices. It is a prestigious annual activity
of the institution. 22 such programmes have successfully
been organized in different parts of the country and
abroad.
The aim of the programme is to exchange ideas for exposure
to advancements in maintenance management, cutting
edge industrial training, transforming core competencies
for development of maintenance solution, work around
and act as a force multiplier across the enterprise for asset
management.
In line with our earlier endeavours, the AMMP Division
proudly announces the 23 rd AMMP.
Programme Objectives
World is transforming into a global village with seamless
boundary, demanding industrial production 24x7 but
current meltdown in the global economy has had a
cascading impact on most of production, service and
associated establishments including manpower. Typically,
in hard times, plant management assumes ‘carte blanche’
and tends to cut down services such as plant maintenance.
This can actually be counterproductive in most situations.
‘Just in Time’ strategy hitherto restricted to production
is now mapped to maintenance of plant and machinery
ensuring minimum break in production. Emphasis is
now shifting from breakdown maintenance to predictive
maintenance. Individuals in maintenance cannot remain
isolated and now form an integrated part of production
team.

Therefore present scenario has to be leveraged to upgrade
plant machinery, skill level, apply maintenance engineering
concept to optimize procedures as well as budgets to
achieve better maintainability, reliability and availability
of plant / equipment.

Redefine your Maintenance Strategy
Programmes like this, which focus on latest developments
and practices in plant management with special reference
to maintenance are practically non-existent in our
country. As fairly senior level delegates are offered this
programme, it is expected that each one of them would
have solved a typical problem, introduced a new technique
/ concept, which made considerable difference in reducing
the downtime, cost, etc. We encourage such individuals
to share their stories / achievements in the programme.
The same should be communicated to the Programme
Secretariat.
Call for Technical Papers
We invite experienced Managers, Plant Engineers,
Academicians, Researchers and Consultants to send their
papers for presentations on the subject related to the
programme theme. The following guidelines be adhered,
while forwarding the papers: -
(a) The scope of papers must focus on matters relating
to any facets of technology and innovation in
Sustainment of Plant Assets.
