be available game day at the Hulman Center Ticket Office on the southeast side of the
venue.

GATES OPEN: The Hulman Center will open its gates to fans beginning one hour prior
to the start of each session -- 9:30 am ET and 5 pm ET. The venue will be cleared
between the Class 2A and 3A games.

that me. For media outlets intending to cover the girls basketball state finals, please apply for credenals
by e-mailing your request (with name of individual to be credenaled) to IHSAA Sports Informaon Director
Jason Wille at jwille@ihsaa.org. E-mail requests MUST originate from a recognized business account; e-mails
from personal accounts (ie: yahoo.com, aol.com, gmail.com, etc.) will not be accepted. Please note that the
girls basketball state finals require a specific credenal. Any passes issued previously will not allow admission
to this event. Credenals will not be mailed.
MEDIA PARKING: All media parking will be in Lot D located directly across the street to the east of the
Hulman Center at the corner of Ninth Street and Eagle Street.
MEDIA WILL-CALL/ENTRANCE: Approved credenal requests will be available for pickup at media will-call
located inside the lower level entrance at the base of the loading ramp on the north side of the venue.
Credenals may be claimed beginning at 8 am ET for the first session and at 4 pm ET for the second session.
Please have idenficaon available and be prepared to have bags and equipment checked by security
officials.
MEDIA WORK AREA: In addion to press row at courtside, the “Media Interview Room” located in the east
tunnel will serve as a work place for media and also the locaon of the Class A, 2A and 3A press conferences.
A hospitality area will also be available on the north side of the venue at court level.

LOCKER ROOM ACCESS: No one except tournament workers and team coaches and parcipants will have
access to the locker rooms.
NO CHILDREN, PLEASE: With the excepon of high school students represenng their school’s newspaper,
yearbook, radio or television staon, and who have a team parcipang, no young people or children will be
issued media credenals or be allowed in the working media area.
LIVE TELEVISION CUT-INS: Spot news reports showing live game acon are prohibited. Stand-up reports for
newscasts are permied from inside the building provided that no live acon is shown.
POST-GAME GUIDELINES
With the excepon of the IHSAA’s Radio, Television, Internet and Photography partners, all media members
are asked to remain off the playing floor and behind the ropes during the post-game awards ceremonies.
The post-game ceremonies order will be as follows:
• Mental Atude Award presentaon
• Runner-Up medals and trophy presentaon
• Championship medals and trophy presentaon
• Team Photographs by Visual Sports Network
Following the Class A, 2A and 3A awards ceremonies, coaches and selected players will be escorted to the
“Media Interview Room” in the east tunnel for a formal press conference which is located on playing floor
level. We ask your assistance to use the press conference as the appropriate me to conduct interviews.
The runner-up team coach and selected players will go first followed by the championship team coach and
players.
Because of newspaper deadline issues at the end of the 4A contest, no press conference will be scheduled
and news media will be allowed to conduct interviews on and around the floor aer the awards ceremonies.
For those working on deadline, the IHSAA will distribute “quick quotes” taken from the IHSAA Television and
Radio Network interviews as soon as possible aer the game.

at 82.2 ppg. 4A Fishers is a distant second at 70.1 ppg.
• Also lead the state in margin of victory at 30.4 ppg.
• Saturday’s championship game will be the second ranked
opponent the team has faced during tournament. Defeated
No. 4 Oregon-Davis, 64-45 to win regional crown.
• Tied for second place (6-2) with Class A defending state
champion Vincennes Rivet in the Blue Chip Conference this
season and behind first-place Barr-Reeve (8-0).
• School leads the state with 10 consecuve seconal
championships. Since the beginning of class sports in 1998,
Northeast Dubois has won its seconal tle 14 out of 15
years (2002). The school had never won a seconal prior to
1998.
• Head coach Alan Matheis is 183-87 in 11 years at the school.
• What exactly is a “Jeep”? Upon deciding on “JEEP” as the
school mascot, a group of 15 Dubois HS basketball players
approached Principal and Coach, Dallas Ferguson, with their
decision. Ferguson concurred, and Dubois HS, the school
which gave way to the current school, had an official mascot.
According to Wikipedia, Eugene the Jeep is a character in
the Thimble Theatre comic strip, which stars Popeye. His first
appearance was in the March 16, 1936 strip and is known for

Wayne Concordia, 79-70 on Jan. 14.
• Canterbury has three players averaging beer than 17.0 ppg
led by Kindell Fincher who ranks among the state leaders at
21.2 ppg. She also is among state’s best with 12.2 rpg. Bailey
Farley (18.7 ppg) and Darby Maggard (17.4 ppg) follow.
• Sco Kreiger picked up his 250th career victory as coach
(250-88 in 14 years) during the semi-state contest against
Riverton Parke.
• School is looking for second state tle this year. Cavaliers won
the Class A boys soccer state championship on Oct. 29.

Indiana Conference rival Evansville Bosse on Dec. 14.
Wildcats (6-1) finished second in league race to Bosse (7-0).
• Maura Muensterman ranks among the state leaders at 22.5
ppg. Tori Schickel averages 15.4 ppg and 7.5 rpg.
• Head coach Steve Goans is 80-35 in five years at the school.

• Saturday’s championship will be first game against a ranked
opponent this tournament.
• Team won its state-leading ninth semi-state championship
with its 49-36 win over Seeger.
• Head coach Denny Renier is 63-15 in his third year as head
coach. He served 22 seasons as a Luers assistant coach.
• Knights playing for school’s 20th IHSAA state tle overall and
second this year (football team defeated Evansville Mater
Dei, 41-17, in 2A championship game on Nov. 25).

the girls basketball state finals.
• That 1977 state runner-up team finished 16-1 under coach
Carolyn Oldfather losing to East Chicago Roosevelt in the
second year of the girls state tournament.
• Team ranks 12th in state regardless of class in average margin
of victory at 20.5 ppg.
• Saturday’s championship will be second game against a
ranked opponent this tournament. Defeated #10 Edgewood,
58-36, to win regional championship.
• That victory over Edgewood also ended a seven-year regional
championship drought.

• Head coach Julie Shelton is 220-97 in 14 years at the school.
Won her 200th game as coach in 71-60 road win at Hamilton
Heights on Nov. 26. Shelton played in the 1987 state
semifinals with Seymour HS, was a state finalist in the shot
put in 1987, helped her volleyball team to 1988 and 1989
volleyball state finals and won the 1989 IHSAA volleyball
mental atude award.

Conference rival Fort Wayne Bishop Luers. Lost to 1A finalist
Fort Wayne Canterbury, 79-70 on Jan. 14.

• David Miller served as head coach of Indiana All-Stars and
earned a split in last summer’s annual clash with Kentucky
All-Stars. Miller is 144-66 in nine years at Concordia, 324-
158 in 22 years overall. He ranks 11th among the winningest
acve coaches in the state.

Greenwood in the regional and 50-46 overme thriller
over Ben Davis in the semi-state. The win over Greenwood
avenged one of its regular season losses.

season with 6-1 record.
• School looking for 34th IHSAA state championship overall
and second this school year. The boys cross country team
won its third consecuve state tle at the LaVern Gibson
Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute on Oct.

• Ranked #14 in single class IBCA poll and unranked in 4A
ICGSA poll.
• North Central playing in fourth state finals and making third
appearance in state championship game.
• Panthers have knocked out four top nine teams during
tournament run including top-ranked and previously
undefeated Hamilton Southeastern, 42-39, in the seconal
opener on Feb. 8. Have also beaten #8 McCutcheon 55-45 in
OT in regional semis, #9 Fort Wayne Snider 47-33 in regional
final and #2 Penn 65-50 at semi-state.
• Team captured first regional and semi-state championships in
seven years since back-to-back state tles in 2004 and 2005.
• Like their opponent, North Central endured a three-game
slide, but won its final two regular season games prior to the
tournament, including a 42-38 road victory over 3A finalist
Mt. Vernon (Fortville).
• Team finished third in Metropolitan Interscholasc
Conference race with 5-2 record.
• School looking for 58th IHSAA overall state championship (#2
in state history). Last tle came in 4A boys basketball in 2010.
• Head coach is DeeAnn Ramey who is in first year with team.
She was starng guard for Mooresville in 1978 State Finals

My father, Wayne, is my assistant coach and is also one of the first girls’ high school coaches inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall

Patricia L. Roy Mental Atude Award Recipients
At the conclusion of each championship game, members of the IHSAA Execuve Commiee presents the Patricia L. Roy Mental Atude Award to an outstanding
senior parcipant.
The recipients of this award, who were nominated by their principals and coaches, must excel in mental atude, scholarship, leadership and athlec ability in
basketball.
Ms. Roy joined the IHSAA execuve staff in 1972, was responsible for girls basketball from the incepon of the tournament series in 1976 unl her rerement in
June 1999. Regarded both statewide and naonally as a pioneer in girls athlecs, Roy served on the IHSAA execuve staff longer than anyone in the history of the
Associaon.
Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, IHSAA corporate partner, presents a $1,000 scholarship to the school in the name of the recipient.
