2. Inspection Order (I.O.) - The instruction for Bureau Veritas to inspect
I.O. NAME: Inspection Order (I.O.).
ISSUED BY: Bureau Veritas Liaison Office Amman (LO AMM) (based upon PFI,
bank’s LC/Importer's application) or Bureau Veritas Centre for
Relations with Exporters in the country of export.

3. Inspection requirements/restrictions
SEALING OF F.C.L. CONTAINERS Required.
SECOND-HAND GOODS: Not allowed in most cases.
PROHIBITED IMPORTS: See Section 8.
RESTRICTED IMPORTS: See Section 9.
LABELLING REQUIREMENTS: Goods destined for human consumption must be labelled (in English
or Arabian) in accordance with extant legislation or regulations of
country of importation.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Checking of the applicable standards, checking of the
product conformity proof, checking of the manufacturer ISO
quality system, checking of factory records on performed
tests.
The control tests must be performed by a JISM/BV
accredited laboratory. If no accredited laboratory is
available, others can be used by limited approval.

VERITAS TO ISSUE REPORT: Shipping documents, original of Supplier / Manufacturer Declaration,
Test Report and certificates
TYPE OF REPORT ISSUED: Certificate of Conformity for Importer (CC) ; Certified invoice for
Exporter
REPORT PURPOSE: The certified invoice for the Exporter is to enable him to negotiate
the L/C.
The CC is given to the Importer who must produce it at the time of
customs clearance.
6. Inspection fees
Inspections are paid by the Exporter directly to Bureau Veritas Centre of Relations with Exporters (CRE).
Nevertheless, Bureau Veritas may also invoice the Seller in the event of supplementary inspection visits
(aborted or unsatisfactory results during first Inspection). The costs incurred by the Seller in presenting the
goods for inspection, such as unpacking, handling, testing, sampling, repackaging... are for the Seller’s account.

a. Customs advise that shipments with a valid CC will receive preference for fast track clearance process,
b. Manufacturers can apply for type approval/licensing for products,
c. When a Manufacturer does not wish to go for type/approval/licensing, a major Importer/Distributor may
register specific products.

doubt concerning the issuance of a Certificate.
