3.13 Information Regarding <strong>IGNOU</strong> Policy for the Prevention,<br />
Prohibition <strong>and</strong> Punishment of Sexual Harassment of Women<br />
The India G<strong>and</strong>hi National Open University, in adherence with the guidelines of the Supreme Court<br />
of India has evolved a specific policy <strong>and</strong> procedures to combat sexual harassment in the workplace.<br />
In compliance with the m<strong>and</strong>ate of the Supreme Court judgement, <strong>IGNOU</strong> adopts this policy to<br />
prevent, prohibit <strong>and</strong> punish sexual harassment o+f women at the workplace, <strong>IGNOU</strong> is committed<br />
to providing for all women who fall within its jurisdiction, including its academic, non-academic staff<br />
<strong>and</strong> students, a place of work <strong>and</strong> study free from sexual harassment, intimidation <strong>and</strong> exploitation.<br />
For further information regarding the policy, definition of sexual harassment, rules <strong>and</strong> procedures<br />
approved by <strong>IGNOU</strong>, students may visit the <strong>IGNOU</strong> website (www.ignou.ac.in) . In case of any<br />
incidents of sexual harassment, student may contact any member of the <strong>IGNOU</strong> Committee Against<br />
Sexual Harassment (CASH) at the Headquarters in New Delhi, the Regional Services Division<br />
Committee against Sexual Harassment (RSDCASH)-overseeing committee for all Regional Centres)<br />
or the Regional Centre Committtee against Sexual Harassment (RCCASH) at their nearest regional<br />
centre. The (ACASH) Apex Committee against Sexual Harassment will serve as the final appellate<br />
body for all complaints. Further contact information <strong>and</strong> administrative assistance may also be sought<br />
from the CPRO <strong>and</strong> Security Officer of <strong>IGNOU</strong>.<br />
3.14 Placement Services<br />
In order to further extend learner support services to its geographically distributed student population<br />
who are pursuing various IT <strong>and</strong> Non-IT related Degree,Diploma <strong>and</strong> Masters Programme, the<br />
University has recently established the Campus Placement Cell (CPC). The mission <strong>and</strong> endeavor<br />
of CPC is to enhance <strong>and</strong> facilitate the process of providing suitable employment opportunities that<br />
are commensurate with the peronal profiles of our learners. All students interested in seeking the<br />
assistance of CPC for procuring suitable job opportunities are requested to send their current resume/<br />
biodata to campusplacement@ignou.ac.in. They are further advised to visit our home page<br />
