3.7.3.9. Use <strong>of</strong> experience shar<strong>in</strong>g visit programs<br />

Increased use <strong>of</strong> knowledge dissem<strong>in</strong>ation via grassroots shar<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> experiences<br />

through, for <strong>in</strong>stance, organiz<strong>in</strong>g farmer-to farmer visits to promote best nutritional practices<br />

should be <strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> NNS <strong>in</strong>terventions. The objectives <strong>of</strong> such exposure visits are to<br />

facilitate shar<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> experiences, exchange <strong>of</strong> ideas, and provid<strong>in</strong>g opportunities to observe<br />

and learn from <strong>the</strong> best practices for produc<strong>in</strong>g a dietary-diversified crop and livestock mix at<br />

household level. This will give <strong>the</strong> groups <strong>the</strong> opportunity for greater <strong>in</strong>teraction and openended<br />

discussions by rais<strong>in</strong>g relevant nutrition issues related to agricultural development. In<br />

<strong>the</strong> exposure visit programs, <strong>the</strong> proportion <strong>of</strong> women should be high s<strong>in</strong>ce at <strong>the</strong> rural<br />

household level home garden<strong>in</strong>g, petty sell<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> agricultural produce, <strong>the</strong> purchase <strong>of</strong><br />

consumables, and food preparation is handled by <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
