Through its subsidiary, ESBI, the ESB has an active programme of activities
designed to support the introduction of OE. ESBI participates
in the development of a number of wave and tidal technologies in
Ireland and elsewhere. ESBI also works to develop the AMETS open
ocean wave test facility. The ESB is lead partner in developing the
Westwave 5MW demonstration project, to be operational in 2015.
