Created <strong>in</strong> 1995, the <strong>International</strong> Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (<strong>IDEA</strong>) is<br />
an <strong>in</strong>ter-governmental organization with member states across all cont<strong>in</strong>ents. <strong>IDEA</strong> operates<br />
at the <strong>in</strong>terface between governments, research and the <strong>in</strong>ternational development<br />
community to support susta<strong>in</strong>able democracy worldwide. <strong>IDEA</strong> works with both new and longestablished<br />
democracies, help<strong>in</strong>g to develop the <strong>in</strong>stitutions and culture <strong>of</strong> democracy. It<br />
operates at <strong>in</strong>ternational, regional and national level, work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> partnership with a range <strong>of</strong><br />
