Ide Primary School Newsletter 22 Telephone 01392 259964 Website - www.ide.devon.sch.uk Dear Parents and Carers, Thursday 25th February 2010 Men behaving dadly! An opportunity for any dads, granddads, uncles or important male figures in children’s lives to come along and take part in a fun and exciting workshop with their children. Premier sports will be running these workshops for men and children at school. The sessions will be for 6 weeks starting on Thursday April 22 nd 5:30pm - 6:30pm. The sessions are funded by the West Exe learning community and are free but places are limited. Fliers and enrolment forms will be sent home soon. Think Green – miss newsletters? Keep in touch by registering to receive your newsletters by email. Just email the school office at admin.ide.devon.sch.uk. All newsletters are on the website usually by Friday to download. Sainsbury vouchers – start collecting. We are now collecting Sainsbury’s vouchers, last year we got a fantastic amount of sports equipment and playground equipment for school, so please save as many vouchers as you can and ask any relatives to do so too! A box is in the entrance hall. SEAL Theme – Good to be me! The theme for our assemblies and PHSE lessons this half term is Good to be me and focuses on children recognsing their own special gifts and talents, how to stand up for themselves, the need to think about how their actions and words affect others. FIS Fashion Show – hurry to get your tickets! Reminder that tickets are on sale in the Office and at pick up time after school each day. £5 adults, £4 under 18. Tickets can also be bought from the community shop. World Book Day – The Giant Book Swap next Friday – start bringing books from Wednesday! Dig out any good condition books you have finished reading and exchange them for a token on Friday. Then use your token to pick up a new book. The children can bring in any good condition books they are happy to swap. It’s a great way to recycle your books and last year we had a fantastic response. MUGA update. The project is turning out to be slower and more costly than expected. However, this week the Governors will be appointing an architect to fully design and cost the plans. Also many thanks to those parents who volunteered to be part of a fundraising and grant bids group. They met for the first time before half term and once costings are confirmed, will meet again. Yours sincerely, Sean Millar, Headteacher
