Jonathan Zittrain’s recent book: The Future of the Internet -- And How to Stop it
offers a technical, legal, policy, and social view of the future of the Internet and
why “tethered appliances” ends the tradition of a generative system (which have
the ability to “produce unanticipated change through unfiltered contributions from
broad varied audiences”[6]) potentially leading to ending the cycle of innovation
which has driven the success of the Internet.
