HTTP Requests<br />

request-line == request request-URI HTTP-version<br />

Three requests:<br />

• GET - returns in<strong>for</strong>mation identified by request URI<br />

• HEAD - similar to GET but only returns header in<strong>for</strong>mation<br />

• POST - sends a body with a request; used <strong>for</strong> posting e-mail, news,<br />

sending a fillin <strong>for</strong>m, etc.<br />

Universal Resource Idendifiers (URIs) - described in RFC 1630, URLs in RFC<br />

1738 and RFC 1808.<br />
