Disabling the Nagle Algorithm<br />

But sometimes we need to send a small message - without waiting (<strong>for</strong> example,<br />

handling a mouse event in the X Window System) - there<strong>for</strong>e we set:<br />

• TCP_NODELAY on the socket<br />

• Host Requirements RFC says that hosts must implement the Nagle<br />

algorithm, but there must be a way to disable it on individual<br />

connections.<br />
