AUTHORS<br />

Ghada Al-Jadba, born in Gaza in 1968, married, three children, studied<br />

medicine in Libya <strong>and</strong> in Gaza; she is direc<strong>to</strong>r <strong>of</strong> six UNRWA Health canters<br />

in the Gaza Strip.<br />

Birgit Daiber has life-long experience in European policy <strong>and</strong> projectdevelopment,<br />

<strong>and</strong> has been involved in women’s peace networks since<br />

1990. She was the direc<strong>to</strong>r <strong>of</strong> the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation’s Brussels<br />

Office from 2008 <strong>to</strong> 2012, <strong>and</strong> co-founder <strong>of</strong> the AAA Network in<br />

Brussels.<br />

Shukria Dini is a Somali-Canadian feminist <strong>and</strong> researcher who has<br />

been researching on gender issues in war-<strong>to</strong>rn Somalia for over ten<br />

years. She holds a Ph.D. in <strong>Women</strong>’s Studies from York University, Toron<strong>to</strong>,<br />

Cana da, <strong>and</strong> is the direc<strong>to</strong>r <strong>and</strong> founder <strong>of</strong> Somalia <strong>Women</strong>’s Studies<br />

Centre (SWSC).<br />

Marlis Gensler is a social anthropologist <strong>and</strong> worked in development<br />

cooperation <strong>and</strong> research before joining the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation<br />

in Brussels in 2009. She coordinated the project “<strong>The</strong> <strong>Contribution</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>Women</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Peace</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Reconciliation</strong>”.<br />

Lama Hourani was born in a Palestinian refugee family. She is a wom -<br />

en’s rights activist <strong>and</strong> has been a member, since 2005, <strong>of</strong> the IWC, the<br />

International <strong>Women</strong>’s Commission for a Just <strong>and</strong> Sustainable Israeli-<br />

Palestinian <strong>Peace</strong>.<br />

Molly Malekar, Born in Mumbai, India, <strong>to</strong> a Jewish family <strong>of</strong> the Benei<br />

Israel community; lives in Jerusalem, Israel . B.A. in Middle East studies<br />

<strong>and</strong> International Relations at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem , political<br />

<strong>and</strong> feminist activist. Former direc<strong>to</strong>r <strong>of</strong> Jerusalem Rape Crisis Center,<br />

former direc<strong>to</strong>r <strong>of</strong> Bat Shalom <strong>of</strong> the Jerusalem Link, Isra e li-Palestinan<br />

<strong>Women</strong>’s Initiative for <strong>Peace</strong>. Founding member <strong>of</strong> the International Wom -<br />

en’s Commission for <strong>Peace</strong> (IWC). Currently, Direc<strong>to</strong>r <strong>of</strong> the Counsel ing<br />

Center for <strong>Women</strong>, a feminist based therapy centre in Israel.<br />
