1984 AFL·CIO Union Industries Show Thousands and thousands of the public III the Memphis, Tennessee, area wttncssed the Skills, excellence and productlvuy of union workers that arc available Ln the United States when they attended the 39th AFL CIO Union Industries Show held an Memphis May 11 - 16 The mEW exhiblt, one of the more colorful booths in the show, drew the attcnuou of thousands of visitors. Six 13 ~ Zenith color TV sets were given away in free drawmgs held nightly, and one 2 5~ Zenith color TV set was given away III a free drawing on the last night of the show. A list of the Zenith TV wlIlncrs is printed in this article. The free trade umon show IS produced and managed by the AFt-ClO Umon Label & Service Trades Dcpartment. The Union Industries Show IS intended to display the many prod· uCtS and services produced by umon members and their employers. It IS organized la bor's best opportunity to show the general public the prevailing atmospherc of mutual coopcra UOD that is characteristic of most labor-management relations. Also, It gives the pubhc a first-hand look at how union workers and their employers contrlbutc to thc nation's economic wealth through thelt sktlled craftsmanship. The show makes a pomt that union members arc found working In vi r tually every manufacturing industry In the United States, including can· structlon and the mechamcal trades.
