Management All seedlings must be protected from gruinS animals
throush the second growins season, or until the seeded species
are well established. Under certain conditions, aprayins to control

lMledlinS. Rodents, rabbits, insects, and other pests should also be
controlled where they pose a threat to new eeedlings.

Animals can be herded by people on foot or on honeback to
protect new seedlinp from gruinS damase, thereby avoidins the
more expensive technique of fencins.
