an allele, but also an imbalance in allele<br />

intensities (allelic imbalance) are both<br />

called LOH. LOH is often equated with<br />

'deletion' although it may also be<br />

caused by somatic re c o m b i n a t i o n .<br />

Complete loss of an allele can only be<br />

reliably and unequivocally measured in<br />

tumour DNA samples with very low levels<br />

of contamination from non-malignant<br />
