Recipe
Ingredients you need for certifi ed<br />
Guardian Angel cookies:<br />
100 g icing sugar, sifted<br />
200 g butter<br />
300 g wheat fl our<br />
1 egg yoke<br />
1 pinch of salt<br />
100 g icing sugar mixed with a little bit<br />
of water and a teaspoon of butter<br />
food colouring<br />
How to prepare the Guardian Angel<br />
cookies:<br />
Cream egg yoke, icing sugar, butter and<br />
wheat fl our to a smooth dough. Wrap the<br />
dough in cling foil and leave it to cool in<br />
the fridge for about one hour. Then roll out<br />
the pastry between two pieces of baking<br />
foil to a thickness of about 3 mm (it’s best<br />
to use wooden slats as well – these make<br />
it easier to attain an even thickness). Cut<br />
out the Guardian Angel cookies prayerful<br />
and with joy and remove residue pastry<br />
from the cut-out shapes. Leave the cookies<br />
on the baking foil and place on a baking<br />
tray. Bake in a pre-set oven (top and bottom<br />
heat) at 190 °C for 7–10 minutes. Then<br />
allow to cool.<br />
Mix icing sugar with melted butter and a<br />
little water until you have got a thickish<br />
paste. Style your Guardian Angel perfectly<br />
with this paste and use different colours if<br />
you like.<br />
