sion of air is restricted and higher temperatures are maintained.<br />

Steam at a high temperature can effect the formation of the trioxide,<br />

with the simultaneous evolution of hydrogen sulphide.<br />

The advantages of this method for treating antimony ore are:—<br />

(1) The separation of arsenic from antimony, due to the fact that<br />

arsenic oxide is more volatile than antimony trioxide.
