The first ever Hartford Quad Included Arrowhead (rated 2nd in D1), Port 

Washington (rated 7th in D2), Hartford (rated 10 in D1), and West Allis 

Central (rated Honorable Mention in D1). Hartford faced WAC in round 1 

and defeated them 44-25. Meanwhile, in a minor upset Port Washington 

defeated Arrowhead in round 1. In the finals Hartford defeated Port 34- 

33. The dual was tied 33-33 at the end of the final match and Hartford 

earned the winning point by criteria because Hartford had won eight 

matches and Port had won six. Hartford's undefeated wrestlers were: 

Bobby Nachreiner, Nate Hennes, Nick Becker, Mason Baumgartner, 

Austin Cordell, and Nick Larsen. Austin Cordell and Bobby Nachreiner 

pinned both of their opponents.

Hartford Wrestling opens the WLT Duals season with a convincing 58-18 

win over West Bend West. The orioles won 11 of 14 matches in the 

battle between the two undefeated teams. Scoring Falls for HUHS:

The Hartford Wrestling Team won the 36th annual Hartford Team 

Tournament this Saturday. After defeating West Bend West Friday Night 

Hartford went 5-0 Saturday to win the championship. Five individual 

oriole wrestlers went undefeated: Bobby Nachreiner 106, Nate Hennes 

138, Nick Becker 160, Mason Baumgartner 182, and Nick Larsen 285.

The Hartford Wrestling Team Clinched the WLT Dual Title last night in 

front of a large, loud, and enthusiastic crowd at Slinger High School. The 

Orioles defeated the state ranked owls 42-30, on the strength of eight 

wins with four pins. The wrestlers have now won 42 consecutive 

conference duals, and have not lost a conference dual in 6 years.

Wisconsin Lutheran Dual 

The Hartford Wrestling team improved to 2-0 in conference and 9-0 over 

all with a 47-27 win last night over Wisconsin Lutheran. The Orioles won 

9 of 14 matches picking up 6 pins along the way. Scoring pins for 

Hartford was: Nick Hahn 160, Nick Becker 170, Mason Baumgartner 182, 

Austin Cordell 195, Nick Larsen 285, and James Gaffney 126. 

Next up, the wrestlers travel to West Allis Central this Friday for the 

prestigious 18 team Ed Stech Invitational.

Central High School this week end. The orioles had nine wrestlers in the 

top six and three Champions. Nate Hennes, Nick Becker and Mason 

Baumgartner were Champions. Austin Cordell, and Nick Hahn Were 3 rd . 

Zach Waldman, and Nick Larsen were 4 th . Jimmy Burg was 5 th . Anthony 

Conforti and James Gaffney were 6 th .

Championship by a margin of 45 points Saturday. The team is now one 

win away from their third trip to State in four years. The Hartford 

wrestling team qualified 11 individuals to the sectional tournament and 

had 7 individual champions. Oriole Regional Champions were: Bobby 

Nachreiner, Nate Hennes, Jimmy Burg, Nick Becker, Nick Hahn, Mason 

Baumgartner, and Nick Larsen.

At the WIAA State Tournament Hartford had 3 

placewinners. At 103 Bobby Nachreiner rebounded 

from a tough semi-final lose and took 3rd. At 119 Nate 

Hennes had an excellent tournament on his way to 

placing 6th. At 130 Nick Becker wrestled all the way 

back after losing his first match to take 3rd.

The Orioles pounded their WLT foe to open the season. Hartford leads the overall series with the

The Orioles rolled over a tough Cooney squad to improve to 2-0 in the WLT. Scoring falls were:

Team balance and the ability to pin was the combination that led to the 

first championship of the season. The Orioles placed all team members 

and went 11-3 in the final round to secure the championship over #2 

rated Pewaukee. Earning championships were: Nick Becker (112), Jarid 

Baumgartner (130), Danny Allen (140)and Nick Broadway (189). 

Other placewinners were: Cale Klink 5th/103, Zach Durante 3rd/119, Nathan Hennes 5th/125, 

Casey Kenealy 6th /135, Weston Klink 4th/145, Matt Kowalke 7th/152, Ben Bunzel 7th/160,

Varsity Reserves Finish 2nd 

The Varsity Reserve Team earned a second place finish in a varsity dual 

tournament. This was the first time that a reserve team was ever entered in a 

varsity tournament. The reserves defeated: Sheboygan North, Ozaukee, West 

Allis Hale and Racine Horlick. The only loss came to Waukesha West in the 

finals. 

Hartford finishes 5th out of 57 at Oshkosh On The 

Water 

Once again the Orioles were in the mix with the best in the state. Nick 

Becker led the way with a championship at 112 beating two returning 

state finalists in the process and Nick Broadway finished second for the 

second year in a row. 

Other Oriole placers were: Cale Klink 10th at 103, Zach Durante 10th at 119, Danny 

Allen 6th at 140, and the steadily improving Tyler Dippel 9th at 275. 


The Orioles rolled to 4-0 in the WLT before another large alumni crowd. Scoring falls were: Cale

Hartford Wins East Troy Classic Championship 

Powered by five champions and four second place finishes the Orioles 

earned their second championship of the season.

Orioles Win Zelinski Duals 

Hartford captured the Zelinski Title for the first time in a field loaded 

with state-ranked opponents. Hartford, Stoughton and Pewaukee all 

fnishished with 4-1 records with Hartford winning on the criteria of 

most points scored in the duals with tied opponents. This was also the 

first time the Zelinski Title was determined in this fashion. Nick Becker 

and Tyler Dippel were unbeaten on the day.

Going into the dual Stoughton had just soundly defeated Pewaukee, and for the Orioles

The Orioles completed the regular season with a dominating win over one of the 

best from the Classic 8 Conference in Senior Night Action. With the dual tied at 

17, Matt Schmirler notched a fall to begin 33 point landslide to overwhelm the 

Indians as the Orioles won the last seven matches.

Hartford leads the series with Mukwonago: 6-4-1 

Hartford rolls to WLT Tournament Title 

In a record setting effort the Orioles outpointed second place Oconomowoc by 

103.5 points. Hartford crowned five champions, highlighted by freshman Nick 

Becker's win over Cooney's 2x champion and state ranked Zach Mommaerts. 

Zach Durante and Nick Broadway repeated as champions with Cale Klink and 

Erik Becker winning their first titles. Finishing second were: Danny Allen, 

Weston Klink, Matt Kowalke and Dustin Wilcox. Third place finishers were: 

Nathan Hennes, Jarid Baumgartner, Ben Bunzel and Tyler Dippel. Matt 

Schmirler finished 4th. 

In the history of the Wisconsin Little Ten Conference, Hartford leads 

with 23 Team Championships and 114 Individual Champions . 

Orioles Roll to Regional Title 

Another solid team effort resulted in a solid win over second place 

Arrowhead. Hartford qualified all 14 wrestlers. Earning titles were: Nick 

Becker, Zach Durante, Jarid Baumgartner, Danny Allen, Nick Broadway 

and Tyler Dippel. Finishing second were: Cale Klink, Weston Klink, and 

Dustin Wilcox.

The Orioles qualified for State from 1997-2001and returned to the team 

final as their championship run continued. Scoring falls were: Dustin

Hartford qualifies 6 for Individual State 

The Orioles will be well represented with Sectional Champions: Nick 

Becker, Zach Durante, Jarid Baumgartner, Danny Allen, and Nick 

Broadway. Tyler Dippel finished second to qualify as well. Finishing 

3rd were: Nathan Hennes, Weston Klink, and Matt Kowalke. 

Hartford Wrestlers Place at State 

Freshman Nick Becker finished 4th and Senior Nick Broadway finshed 

6th to lead the Oriole effort at State. Senior Danny Allen was one match 

away from placing. Becker once again defeated WLT rival Zach 

Mommaerts on his way to the highest place of any conference wrestler.

Hartford 2nd at West Allis 

The Orioles once again had a solid effort finishing second behind top rated 

Mukwonago in this 18 team invitational. Harford placed nine wrestlers in the top 

six, powered by Luke Multhauf's championship. Oriole placewinners were: Duante 

5th, Baumgartner 5th, Klink 2nd, Allen 3rd, Linder 3rd, Kenealy 4th, Broadway 

3rd, John Gouger 6th. Hartford finished ahead of two state ranked honorable 

mention teams: Pewaukee and Oak Creek. 


The Orioles moved to 3-0 in the Wisconsin Little Ten with a resounding victory over the Beavers. The 

victory was highlighted by Nick Broadway's pin of the defending champ at 189. Other Oriole wins by 

fall were: Ben Schmirler, Zach Duante (TF), Jarid Baumgartner, Luke Multhauf, Adam Linder, Pat 

Kenealy, Jordan Hamilton, Matt Schmirler, and Sean Fuiten.

Oshkosh On the Water 

The Orioles had another great tournament effort finishing 5th out of 53 teams the 

this grueling two day tournament. Hartford placed ahead of conference rivals 

Wisconsin Lutheran and Watertown while wrestling without three starters. 

Leading the effort was Nick Broadway at 189 finishing 2nd while losing to the 

defending state champ, Luke Multhauf 3rd at 140, Adam Linder 145 and Patrick 

Kenealy at 152 were 6th, Jarid Baumgartner 119 and Danny Allen 135 were 12th. 

Sean Fuiten 215 and Weston Klink were one match from placing. Everyone of the 

eleven wrestlers scored points in the event.

Hartford Grabs Inside Track for WLT Dual Title 

Hartford won 10 matches enroute to a decisive victory. Scoring falls were: Zach Durante, Jarid 

Baumgartner, Erik Becker, and Weston Klink. Danny Allen knocked off yet another defending WLT 

champion as did Patrick Kenealy.

Hartford Completes WLT Sweep! 

For the seventh time in the last ten years Hartford captured the 

Tournament title behind solid team depth.

Orioles Miss Out On Regional Title

Hartford and Fond du lac battled each other all day in this two team race and 

when the dust settled, the Hartford found itself in second place. The Orioles for 

the most part competed very well qualifying 11 wrestlers for the Sectional. 

Leading the way were champions: Adam Linder, Luke Multhauf, Patrick kenealy 

and Nick Broadway. 

Kenealy and Broadway Qualify for State 

In one of the toughest Sectionals in the State, the Orioles qualified two as 

second place finishers. Luke Multhauf capped his career with a third place finish 

while Danny Allen finished 4th. 

Nick Broadway finishes 4th at 189! 

Junior Nick Broadway had a great tournament just missing 3rd. 

Patrick Kenealy qualified but could not come away with a victory as 

he lost for the second year to a state finalist.

named Conference Wreslter of the year. Coach Kreuser announced his

The Golden Beavers overcame a 12 point early deficit 

and earned a solid win in an early season battle of WLT 

contenders. The Orioles lost some critical matches in 

the third period in a couple of middle weights that kept 

the momentum with the Beavers. Oriole winners were: 

Katona at 160, Juarez by fall at 171, Filo at 189, 

Zimmerman by fall at 119 and Multhauf by fall at 140.

Three teams finished with a 4-1 record on the day. 

When the criteria was applied to the the competition 

between these teams, Hartford won based on notching 

15 wins, Muskego 2nd with 14 and Pewaukee 3rd with 

13 wins against each other. Earning individual 

championships by going 5-0 were: Cody Zimmerman, 

Luke Multhauf, Colt Allen, Ricky Juarez, and Jared Filo

Wrestling with state finalist, Cody Zimmerman, the 

Orioles finished a strong 4th behind a tough Oak Park

and Brian Bagin (119). Other finishers were: Ricky

Orioles 19th of 58 at Oshkosh On The Water 

The return of state finalist Cody Zimmerman bolstered 

the Hartford lineup, but it was not enough to offset a 

disappointing effort. Zimmerman won his second title 

at Oshkosh, while teammates Jared Filo (6th), Luke 

Multhauf (12th) and Danny Allen (12th) rounded out 

Oriole placewinners. Eleven of the twelve entered 

scored points as a number of guys went out prior to the 

placing.

The Orioles kickstarted the new year with a solid win 

over a scrappy Wisco team in front of a large alumni 

night crowd. Scoring pins for the Hartford were: Mike

The Orioles won the tough head to head matchups and 

moved to 4-1 in the Wisconsin Little Ten on the

into the meet the Orioles were without two starters. It 

turned out to be a real challenge as Cody Zimmerman

Timing was sure not good in this matchup as the

Before a large Youth and Senior night crowd the #3 

Orioles matched up with the #1Indians in the regular 

season finale for both teams. There were some 

outstanding matchups, but the key matches in the 

middle weights all went to the Indians as the Orioles 

lost three straight falls. Hartford winners: Becker 

(fall), Schmidt (fall), Polega, Z Katona, Zimmerman and 

in the best match of the night soph Jared Filo knocked 

off the number 1 rated in SE Wisc Fendryk, 5-3. Over 

$800 was raised by the crowd for the Ryan Lampe

lineup to hold off a determined Beaver Dam squad to 

cap off a WLT sweep of both dual and tournament 

championships. Earning WLT titlles were: Cody

(2x) and Jon Schmidt (3x), while Zach Katona and 

Jared Filo finished 2nd. Rounding out the placing were: 

Ricky Juarez 3rd, Adam Linder 4th, Luke Multhauf 4th,

Alex Peterleus 6th and Kyle Erickson 6th. The Orioles

The Orioles crowned five champions: Cody Zimmerman

119. In a field that featured three conference 

champions and two conference runnerups, Hartford 

dominated with 11 sectional qualfiers. Wauwatosa 

E/W, the Woodland champion was second and 

Menomonee Falls, the Metro Champ was third. 

Arrowhead 43- Hartford 9 

A solid Hartland squad earned a repeat trip to team 

state in this hotly contested dual. Eight matches were 

decided by four points or less and the Warhawks won 

six of those eight. Arrowhead was the toughest dual 

meet opponent the Orioles have faced this season. 

Hartford Qualifies 5 for STATE 

Craig Becker (130) earned his fourth sectional title to 

lead the Orioles in the Sectional. Other Hartford 

Champions were: Cody Zimmerman 112, Christian 

Polega 171 and Jon Schmidt 215. Senior Zach Katona 

qualified as a runnerup. Luke Multhauf finished 3rd. 

Hartford won 6 of the 7 matchups with Arrowhead on 

the day.

Hartford Wins the 19 team West Allis Central 

Invitational 

The Orioles rebounded from the defeat on Thursday 

with an outstanding team effort to come from behind 

in the final match and claim the championship. 

Janesville Craig, Hartford and Sparta were with six 

points of each other for most of Saturday. Each team 

had four in the finals, but Hartford was the only team 

able to crown three champs (Craig Becker, Ryan 

Abbott and Jon Schmidt). Other placers for Hartford 

were: Cody Zimmerman 2nd, Zach Katona 6th, Colt 

Allen 6th, Kevin Blau 4th and Peter Hauser for the 

second year in a row iced the championship with a fall 

to take 5th at 275. Hartford outdistanced Craig by 2.5 

points. 

The Orioles once again had an outstanding team effort 

finishing behind Luxemburg-Casco and 2.5 pts behind 

Burnsville, MN. Oriole placers were: Cody Zimmerman

1/22/2004 Thursday Away Hartford 45 - Oconomowoc 30 

The intensity of the Cooney-Oriole rivalry was present 

tonight as both teams fielded outstandintg talent in 

this hotly contested dual. The Orioles moved to 5-1 in 

the WLT and 16-1 on the year by winning 9 matches. 

Falls were recorded by: Craig Becker, Matt Bourgeois, 

Ryan Abbott, Jon Schmidt, Kevin Blau and Peter 

Hauser who notched his 10th straight fall. Christian 

Polega won the key match of the evening by upending 

a senior state qualifier in an exciting effort by both 

competitors. The Orioles continue to close the gap in 

the overall series with Cooney as it now stands at: 14- 

18-2. A stake for the WLT dual title is on the line as 

Hartford closes out the WLT with Beaver Dam. 

1/30/2004 Friday Home Hartford 43 - Beaver Dam 24

The Orioles came ready to wrestle tonight as they 

won 10 matches to force a three-way tie for the dual 

title with Watertown and Beaver Dam. Winning by 

fall were: Ryan Abbot 152, Ken Johnson 160, Christian 

Polega 171. Other winners were: Cody Zimmerman 

112 by major, Craig Becker by TF at 119, Zach Katona 

at 130, Colt Allen at 140, Mike Strelow at 145, Jon 

Schmidt by major at 189 and Kevin Blau by major at 

215. Hartford leads the overall series with the 

Beavers 27-6. A huge Hartford crowd saw the final 

home dual for the senior class of 2004! 

2/4/2004 Wednesday Away Hartford 33 - Mukwonago 30 

The #2 rated Orioles traveled to the home of the 

Classic 8 champs and #4 rated Mukwonago. Hartford 

battled back from being down by 18 to win this hardfought 

battle. Oriole winners were: Ryan Abbot (TF), 

Christian Polega, Jon Schmidt (Fall), Kevin Blau (Maj), 

Peter Hauser (Fall), Cody Zimmerman, and Craig 

Becker (Fall). Hartford leads the overall series 5-0-1. 

Hartford finishes the regular season 18-1. 

2/7/2004 Saturday Away Hartford Wins WLT Tournament Championship! 

The Oriole made it four tournament championships in 

a row as a solid team performance propelled them to 

a 55 point win over an extremely tough tournament 

field. Hartford crowned five champions: Cody 


Christian Polega 171, and Jon Schmidt 189. Other 

places were: Matt Bourgeois 2nd at 125, Kevin Blau 

2nd at 215, Zach Katona 3rd at 130, Colt Allen 4th at

2/14/2004 Saturday TBA Hartford finishes 2nd in close Regional Battle

The top two teams in SE Wisconsin, Arrowhead and 

Hartford, waged a battle all day but Arrowhead 

finished 4.5 pts ahead when all had finished. The 

Orioles had 10 qualifiers, 4 champions (Cody 

Zimmerman 112, Craig Becker 119, Jon Schmidt 189 

and Kevin Blau 215) , and went 6-2 in matches with 

the Warhawks while finishing higher than the victors 

in eight weight classes. Finishing 2nd were: Matt 

Bourgeois 125, Ryan Abbott 145, and Christian Polega 

160. Notching 3rds were: Zach Katona 130 and Pete 

Hauser 275.

Hartford qualified seven wrestlers for the state 

including six champions: Cody Zimmerman 112, Craig 

Becker 119, Matt Bourgeois 125, Ryan Abbott 145, 

Jon Schmitt 189 and Peter Hauser 275, also qualifying 

was Christian Polega 160 and a wrestleback winner. 

Kevin Blau finished 3rd. Regional Champion 

Arrowhead had three champs and two seconds. 

Abbott becomes the 14th Oriole to win a state title! 

State Champion Ryan Abbott leads the way as six of 

seven qualifiers notched wins in another solid state 

tournament experience. Abbott dominated the field at 

145# with two falls, a tech fall and a major decision 

over WLT rival Ryan Higgins of Oconomowoc in the 

final. Also placing were sophomore Cody Zimmerman 

with a solid outing finishing 5th at 112# and junior 

Jon Schmidt who found the podium with a 6th place 

finish at 189#. Hartford won 15 matches in the 

tournament.

Before a large Alumni Night crowd, the Orioles used nine pins and two decisions 

to move to 4-0 in the WLT. Notching falls were: Cody Zimmerman, Craig Becker, 

Matt Bourgeois, Brad Antonioni, Ryan Abbott, Kyle Becker, Kevin Blau, Pete 

Hauser and Billy Young. Hartford has now won 34 straight in the WLT! 


The Orioles reeled off the last eleven wins to up their Wisconsin Little Ten 

leading record to 5-0. Scoring falls were: Matt Bourgeois, Ryan Abbott, Cyle 

Scherger, Josh Scherger, Jon Schmidt, and Pete Hauser. Notching Tech Falls 

were Cody Zimmerman and Kyle Becker. 


The Orioles move to 6-0 in the WLT winning ten matches. Winning by fall were: 

Ryan Abbott, Cyle Scherger, Kyle Becker, Jon Schmidt, and Billy Young. Winning 

by Tech Falls were: Craig Becker and Josh Scherger. Hartford is now 26-6 with 

the Golden Beavers in the overall series and have now won 36 straight in WLT 

action.

The Orioles clinched their 6th straight dual title and won their 37th straight 

match in the process. Winning by fall were: Matt Bourgeois, Cyle Scherger, Kyle 

Becker, Jon Schmidt and Billy Young. In the premier match of the evening 

featuring a rematch of the 3rd place match from state a year ago, Ryan Abbott 

defeated Joe Fendt by a 7-3 decision.

Major decisions and falls were the order of the night as the Orioles had four of 

each to close out the season in a senior night sendoff. Oriole winners were:

The Orioles placed nine in the finals and came away with seven champions

Finishing 2nd were: Matt Bourgeois and Myles Multhauf. Other placers: Kevin

5th. Hartford set a new tournament record with a 93 point margin of victory! 

Hartford Claims Regional Championship 

The Orioles overcame a sluggish first round to win the Oconomowoc Regional by 

43 points. Hartford champions were: Craig Becker, Cody Zimmerman, Ryan 

Abbott, Kyle Becker, Cyle Scherger, and Billy Young. Kevin Blau was 2nd, Matt 

Bourgeois 3rd, Pete Hauser 4th, Zach Katona, Josh Scherger, and Jon Schmidt 

5th. 

Port Washington 34 - Hartford 30 

The Orioles drop an exciting dual in the WIAA Sectional final. Winners for 

Hartford were: Kevin Blau, Craig Becker, Cody Zimmerman, Ryan Abbott, Myles 

Multhauf, and Kyle Becker. 

Hartford Crowns Five Champions and Sends Six To State! 

The Orioles came to wrestle as Craig Becker, Cody Zimmerman, Ryan Abbott, 

Kyle Becker and Cyle Scherger won championships, Billy Young went as a runner 

up and Kevin Blau and Pete Hauser finished 3rd. Hartford qualified more than 

any other team at the tournament. 

HARTFORD PLACES FOUR AT STATE 

Hartford overcame a rough Thursday night with some strong performances on 

Friday and Saturday. Craig Becker finished 3rd, Ryan Abbott finished 5th, Kyle 

Becker finished 5th and Cyle Scherger came away with a 6th place finish.

Hartford 3rd of 18 at West Allis Central Invitational 

The Orioles had a strong showing minus Justin Peterson finishing behind West Allis Central and 

#2 ranked Milton. The Hartford attack was paced by champions: Mike Schmidt and Brad Becker 

who won the Pinners Award, other placers were: 2nd-Ryan Abbott and Kyle Becker, 3rd-Craig 

Becker, 5th-Mike Flynn. Eleven of the twelve entered scored points. 

Hartford finishes 3rd out of 41 teams at Oshkosh On The Water


Powered by championships from Brad Becker and Mike Schmidt, the Orioles capped off a 

tremendous weekend at Oshkosh. Brad pinned his way through the tournament while Mike was 

not tested as he dominiated a state placewinner from Lux-Casco for his third championship of the 

year. Kyle Becker had an outstanding effort finishing 2nd, Ryan Abbott came away with seven 

wins while finishing 3rd, Craig Becker finish 5th, and Matt Bourgeois finished 10th. Hartford got 

point production from nearly everyone in the lineup. The was the highest Hartford finish in the 

six years participating. Luxemburg-Casco was first with Burnsville,MN second. 



The Orioles moved to 4-0 in the WLT with another solid outing. Scoring pins for Hartford were: 

Craig Becker, Myles Multhauf, Ryan Abbott, Brad Becker, Mike Schmidt and Bill Young. Mike 

Schmidt notched his 100th career win in the dual victory.

The Orioles register their fist shutout since 1998, aided by key wins from Kevin Blau and Billy 

Young along with many falls.

The Orioles defeat the Warriors for the second time this year. Falls by: Craig Becker, Brad 

Antonioni, Myles Multhauf, Cyle Scherger, Kyle Becker and Mike Schmidt. Brad Becker avenges 

his only loss on the season with a 11-5 decision over Jeremy Petfalski to highlight the win.

consecutive dual meet championship and also was coach Don Kreuser's 350th career win.

finishes as WLT dual meet champions for the sixth straight year and go to 30 straight WLT wins.

In a wild finale, Mukwonago scored 4 penalty points in the last 45 seconds of the last match to 

force a tie with the top rated Orioles. Earning falls for the Hartford were Myles Multhauf over a 

state qualifier in a record :13, Ryan Abbott and Brad Becker. Mike Schmidt had a tech fall, other 

wins from Mike Flynn and Mitch Allar. Hartford leads the series 3-0-1. 

Hartford dominates the WLT Championships 


The Orioles had another solid team effort: 103-Craig Becker 1st, 112-Matt Bourgeois 3rd, 119-

Hartford 2nd in Regional behind Milton 

Hartford had an outstanding effort qualifying 10 for sectionals but could not overcome the total 

strength of a solid Milton team which was rated #2 in state. Regional champions were: Craig 

Becker, Ryan Abbott, Brad Becker and Kyle Becker. Eric Andritsch 2nd, 3rd: Matt Bourgeois, Mike 

Schmidt and Billy Young, 4th: Brad Antonioni and Jon Schmidt, 5th: Myles Multhauf and Kevin 

Blau and 6th: Mike Flynn 

Hartford Excells at Sectional 

The Orioles claimed five individual championships in an outstanding day of wrestling. Leading 

the way was Brad Becker @ 140 who won his 4th Sectional title with his 106 career fall in the 

final. Also earning championships were: Craig Becker @ 103, Ryan Abbott @ 130, Kyle Becker @ 

145 and Mike Schmidt @ 189. 

HARTFORD WINS STATE TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP 

The Orioles went 10-0 on Thursday with 7 falls and a tech to place five in the semi-finals. 

Hartford placed Brad and Kyle Becker in the finals and both ended up with silver. Craig Becker 

had the best match of the season and ended up 4th. Ryan Abbott and Mike Schmidt came up with 

huge efforts to earn 3rd place honors. In unofficial team scoring, Hartford finished ahead of 

Milton, Wisconsin Rapids, Menomoniee and Chippewa Falls to round out the top five! This marked 

the first time that the Orioles had five in the semifinals and had all wrestlers place! 

Congratulations wrestlers and to the coaching staff: Mike Cummings, Aaron Casetta, Joe Spudich, 

Phil Grimm, Steve Best and Don Kreuser!

majors in the victory. The Orioles qualify for State Team for the 5th

Hartford leads the Oconomowoc Sectional in Champions and Qualifiers 

for Individual State 

Jake Multhauf, Brad Becker, Steve Allar and Kyle Kreuser go as 

champions while Kyle Becker makes his first trip as a runnerup. 

Orioles also have two 3rd place finishers. 

WIAA Individual State 

Brad Becker and Steve Allar lead the Hartford effort with silver medal 

performances!

Hartford drops five close decisions and can't recover to overtake the 

Vikings who go on to finish 2nd in state. The dual is highlighted by 

Brad Becker's fall over the 135# state champion.
