<strong>FOOTBALL</strong> 101<br />

**A series of position specific camps over the summer to prepare for the upcoming season.<br />

**All camps are designed for athletes entering 4 th – 9 th grade / no prior experience is necessary<br />

**All camps are under the direct supervision of Head Coach Tom Noennig<br />

Camp 1: The Passing Game – Offense & Defense June 11-13 12-2pm $35<br />

*This camp is designed for Quarterbacks, Receivers and Defensive Backs. (tight ends)<br />

*Fundamental instruction will be given to each position group. Campers will be expected to work as both<br />

receivers and defensive backs. Quarterbacks can work other positions but they will focus most of their<br />

attention on throwing mechanics.<br />

*QB’s will have a video analysis during camp. They will work on the R4 pass system as well as quick game<br />

and sprint out. *Receivers will learn the Hartford Oriole passing tree, and Defensive Backs will learn ball skills<br />

and man technique.<br />

*The camp will focus on Cover 1 man techniques, but will have chalk talk on coverage analysis (Cover 1,<br />

Cover 2, and Cover 3)<br />

Camp 2: The Run Game – Offense and Defense June 11-13 2-4pm $35<br />

*This camp is designed for Quarterbacks, Running Backs and Linebackers<br />

*QB’s will learn footwork and reads for the run game. As well as play action pass technique.<br />

*Each camper will learn running back and linebacker (inside and outside) fundamental skills and techniques.<br />

*Running Backs will learn the footwork and concepts used by the Hartford Oriole football program. They will<br />

also receive instruction on pass catching drills out of the backfield.<br />

*Linebackers will learn fundamental skills (run and pass) for the position. Linebackers will have sessions on<br />

backfield and formation recognition as well as keys and reads.<br />

Camp 3: Big Man Camp – O Line and D Line (tight ends) June 25-27 12- 2pm $25<br />

*The game is won and lost in the trenches and the focus on this camp is to teach the proper techniques used to<br />

be successful.<br />

*O Line will learn footwork and proper run and pass blocking techniques.<br />

*D Line will learn footwork and hand technique to win the battle. D Line will learn techniques to shock and<br />

shed blocks and techniques used to rush the passer.<br />

Camp 4: Specialty Camp (no experience necessary) June 25-27 2-4pm $20<br />

* Placekickers / Punters / Long Snappers / Holders and Returners<br />

*Special Teams are SPECIAL and are 1/3 of the game. Techniques will be taught to be successful and<br />

improve in the special teams game.<br />

*Punters and Placekickers will receive video analysis to improve their technique.<br />

*Great camp to learn how to punt / kick or snap!<br />

Camp 5: TEAM <strong>CAMP</strong> (Entering Grades 5-8) July 16-18 9am -noon $20<br />

*Campers will choose an offensive and defensive position.<br />

*The drill progressions for each position will be taught.<br />

*The Pistol Spread Option and the 4-2-5 Defense will be installed<br />

*skill contests will be held in the team camp<br />

*Battleball Tournament will be held during the 3 day camp<br />

Camps are tentatively scheduled to be held at HUHS practice fields

My son has permission to attend the Oriole Football Camp. I certify that within the past two years he has had a physical exam and he is physically able to<br />

participate in football camp activities without restriction. In the event of illness or injury, I give my consent for medical treatment and permission to the<br />

attending physician to hospitalize, secure proper treatment and order injections, anesthesia, or surgery. I will be responsible for medical or other charges in<br />

connection with my son’s attendance at the camp.<br />

I acknowledge that at the Oriole Youth Football Camp my son will participate in a sport that may involve, among other things, physical contact of the body<br />

with other persons or objects, including the ground and that at the Oriole Football Camp, he may incur a risk of injury. I specifically waive and give up and<br />

release the Oriole Football Camp Staff from the liability for any claim for damages which I or my son may have for injuries and illnesses that he may sustain at<br />

camp.<br />
