52. Flat Deals<br />

Producer may individually negotiate “flat deal” agreements with<br />

individual Wrangler Ramrods, Dog Trainers, Wild Animal Trainers and<br />

Wild Animal Handlers in place of the terms and conditions hereunder,<br />

provided such deals shall not compute to less than the minimum rates<br />

provided herein for the Wrangler Ramrods, Dog Trainers, Wild Animal<br />

Trainers and Wild Animal Handlers, as the case may be.<br />

53. Studio Pass<br />

The duly authorized Business Representative of the Union shall be<br />

furnished a studio pass. Such pass will permit driving the<br />

Representative’s car into the Producer’s studio, lot or ranch, provided<br />

such is the custom and practice. He shall be permitted to visit any<br />

portion of the studio, lot or ranch necessary for the proper conduct of the<br />

business of the Union during working hours.<br />

54. Stewards<br />

The Union may designate, or redesignate, as the case may be, from<br />

the Industry Experience Roster described in Paragraph 62(b), an<br />

employee as a Steward, for a period of not longer than three (3) years for<br />

each such designation or redesignation as the case may be, to inspect all<br />

working conditions affecting the terms of this <strong>Agreement</strong>. The Union<br />

may make such a designation or redesignation or remove such Steward<br />

at any time, but shall discuss the matter with the Producer before doing<br />

so.<br />

It shall be the responsibility of the Steward to settle minor<br />

grievances with the head of the department in which the grievance arises<br />

and, in the event such grievance cannot be adjusted, to notify his<br />

Business Representative. The Steward so designated shall be permitted<br />

to perform these duties, but such duties shall not unduly interfere with<br />

his work and he shall not leave his station without notifying his<br />

immediate supervisor.<br />

Such Steward shall not be laid off, or when on layoff shall be the<br />

first to be rehired, during his above-described term as such Steward as<br />

long as there is work available for him in his department; provided that:<br />

such Steward is willing to do, and is qualified physically and possesses<br />

the necessary ability and skill for, the particular work to be performed;<br />

such Steward shall not have any such preference in layoff or recall over<br />

the Department Head, if there is any in the unit, or over any employees<br />

classified and paid as dispatchers, foremen, gang or shift bosses, station<br />

jobs or supervisory employees. Producer’s right to discharge such<br />
