Step One<br />

The aggrieved party shall discuss the matter with his immediate<br />

supervisor. In the event the matter is not resolved, then, within five (5)<br />

days thereafter, the aggrieved party shall reduce the grievance to writing<br />

and mail or deliver same to the other party and concurrently furnish a<br />

copy of such notice to the designated representative of the <strong>Local</strong> Union.<br />

Such written notice shall contain the specific contract provisions and<br />

sections which are alleged to have been violated, a clear statement of the<br />

facts of the alleged violation, the name of the grievant and the remedy<br />

that is being requested. Upon receipt of such written notice, the receiving<br />

party will be required to respond within ten (10) working days. The Shop<br />

Steward and the Department Head shall immediately discuss the matter<br />

and the grievance shall be settled if at all possible. The decision, if any,<br />

of these representatives shall be final and binding upon the parties and<br />

any employees concerned.<br />

Step Two<br />

If the grievance is not settled in Step One within ten (10) days<br />

following the invocation of Step One, or if there is no Shop Steward, the<br />

aggrieved party may proceed to Step Two by delivering or mailing, within<br />

ten (10) days thereafter, a written demand, which shall include a<br />

statement of the particulars of the claim, upon the other party. Failure of<br />

the aggrieved party to so serve such demand shall constitute a waiver of<br />

the claim.<br />

Upon receipt of such written notice, but no later than ten (10) days<br />

after receipt of such notice, the Business Representative of the <strong>Local</strong><br />

Union and the designated representative of the Producer shall<br />

immediately discuss the matter and the grievance shall be settled if at all<br />

possible. The decision, if any, of these representatives shall be final and<br />

binding upon the parties and any employees concerned.<br />

Step Three<br />

In the event the grievance is not settled in Step Two, or if the<br />

Business Representative of the <strong>Local</strong> Union and the designated<br />

representative of the Producer fail to meet in Step Two, the aggrieved<br />

party may proceed to Step Three by delivering or mailing to the other<br />

party and Contract Services Administration Trust Fund (CSATF), within<br />

ten (10) days following the completion of Step Two or, if there is no<br />

meeting in Step Two, within ten (10) days after service of the demand in<br />

Step Two, a written request for Step Three proceedings. Unless either<br />

party objects to submission of the dispute to Step Three as provided<br />

below, the dispute shall thereupon be submitted for resolution to a panel<br />
