copy of the Journal shall be mailed directly to each<br />

Canadian member. Copies may be sent to any other person,<br />

organization, or institution, at the discretion of the<br />

Executive Board of <strong>Teamsters</strong> Canada. Not less than<br />

one (1) of every five (5) pages in each edition of the<br />

Journal shall be reserved for a message from the General<br />

President and additional materials of interest throughout<br />

the Union, the content of which shall be determined by<br />

the General President, pursuant to Article VI, Section 7<br />

of the <strong>Constitution</strong>. This material shall be published in<br />

both English and French. <strong>Teamsters</strong> Canada shall pay<br />

the costs associated with the publication of the Journal.<br />

Copies of the official Journal of the International<br />

Union will be available at all Canadian <strong>Local</strong> Unions<br />

and the International Journal will be sent directly to any<br />

Canadian member upon request. The International<br />

Union shall pay the costs associated with the publication<br />

of the official Journal.<br />

An alternative means of equivalent or superior communication<br />

to the Canadian membership may be substituted<br />

for the Canadian Journal upon mutual agreement<br />

of the <strong>Teamsters</strong> Canada Executive Board and the<br />

General Executive Board.<br />

Article XXVII<br />

SAVING CLAUSES<br />

Section 1. The provisions of this <strong>Constitution</strong> relating<br />

to the payment of dues, assessments, fines, or penalties,<br />

etc., shall not be construed as incorporating into any<br />

union-security contract those requirements for good<br />

standing membership which may be in violation of<br />

applicable law, nor shall they be construed as requiring<br />
