ART. XXVI, SEC. 5<br />

International Union Officers<br />

From <strong>Teamsters</strong> Canada<br />

Section 5(a). The International Union officers from<br />

Canada shall consist of the President of <strong>Teamsters</strong><br />

Canada, who shall also be an International Vice<br />

President, and two (2) regional Vice Presidents, consistent<br />

with Article IV, Section 1(a) of the <strong>Constitution</strong>.<br />

Candidates for these offices shall be elected by members<br />

in Canada, as provided in Article IV, Sections 2 and 3 of<br />

the <strong>Constitution</strong>.<br />

The Vice President/President of <strong>Teamsters</strong> Canada<br />

and the two regional Vice Presidents shall be officers of<br />

the Executive Board of <strong>Teamsters</strong> Canada, commencing<br />

upon the effective date of their installation as<br />

International officers, regardless of the prior composition<br />

of the Executive Board of <strong>Teamsters</strong> Canada and<br />

regardless of the region from which the International<br />

Vice President was elected.<br />

The President of <strong>Teamsters</strong> Canada shall be the<br />

Principal Officer of <strong>Teamsters</strong> Canada, as provided by<br />

Article III, Section 2 of the Bylaws of <strong>Teamsters</strong><br />

Canada. He shall be responsible for maintaining liaison<br />

with the General President and the International Union<br />

on behalf of <strong>Teamsters</strong> Canada and the Canadian membership.<br />

He shall have the authority over the affairs of<br />

<strong>Teamsters</strong> Canada as provided by the Bylaws of<br />

<strong>Teamsters</strong> Canada.<br />

The General President shall consult with the<br />

President of <strong>Teamsters</strong> Canada regarding the assignment<br />

in Canada of the two regional International Vice<br />

Presidents. The President of <strong>Teamsters</strong> Canada may<br />

assign the two regional International Vice Presidents to<br />

perform work in Canada, provided that those tasks do<br />
