Employment Within Ju risdiction of<br />

Sister <strong>Local</strong> Union<br />

Section 5. When a member of a <strong>Local</strong> Union continues<br />

to work on a full-time basis within its jurisdiction<br />

and also obtains employment within the jurisdiction of a<br />

sister <strong>Local</strong> Union, he shall not be entitled nor required<br />

to transfer his membership, but he shall pay to the sister<br />

<strong>Local</strong> Union a periodic service fee (not in excess of the<br />

applicable membership dues) established and uniformly<br />

required by it from members of other <strong>Local</strong> Unions<br />

working within its jurisdiction. When a member of a<br />

<strong>Local</strong> Union continues to work on a part-time basis<br />

within its jurisdiction and obtains full-time employment<br />

within the jurisdiction of a sister <strong>Local</strong> Union, he shall<br />

be required to transfer to the sister <strong>Local</strong> Union and to<br />

pay the periodic service fee to his former <strong>Local</strong> Union.<br />

This provision is subject to applicable law.<br />

Ju risdiction to Issue Honorable<br />

Withdrawal Card<br />

Section 6(a). <strong>Local</strong> Unions shall have jurisdiction<br />

over the granting and acceptance of all honorable withdrawal<br />

cards and shall establish rules in their Bylaws not<br />

inconsistent with this <strong>Constitution</strong> to govern the<br />

issuance and acceptance of withdrawal cards with<br />

respect to members working within the various crafts<br />

and industries under their jurisdiction.<br />

When a member becomes unemployed in the jurisdiction<br />

of the <strong>Local</strong> Union, he shall be issued an honorable<br />

withdrawal card upon his request. If no request is<br />

made, an honorable withdrawal card must be issued six<br />

(6) months after the month in which the member first<br />

becomes unemployed, if he is still unemployed at that<br />
