ART. XII, SEC. 2<br />
acceptance by the negotiating committee, shall take a<br />
period of time which would impose unnecessary hardships<br />
on the strikers, the negotiating committee, with the<br />
approval of the General Executive Board, may direct the<br />
temporary suspension of such strike until the vote on<br />
acceptance or rejection is completed. If the final offer of<br />
settlement is rejected, the negotiating committee, with<br />
the approval of the General Executive Board, may order<br />
the resumption of such strike without a vote.<br />
The negotiating committee shall also have the authority,<br />
with the approval of the General Executive Board, to<br />
temporarily suspend or terminate a strike on such area,<br />
multi-area, multi-employer, company-wide, industrywide,<br />
national, <strong>Local</strong> Union, or such other selective<br />
basis as the Committee shall determine, without the vote<br />
of the involved employees and although no agreement<br />
may have been reached.<br />
(f). The General President, with the approval of the<br />
General Executive Board, shall also have the authority to<br />
take the actions set forth in the above Sections 2(d) and (e)<br />
when it shall appear to him that such action is necessary. If<br />
such action is taken by the General President, with the<br />
approval of the General Executive Board, it shall supersede<br />
any authority of the negotiating committee.<br />
All employers negotiating agreements with multiunion,<br />
multi-state, area, multi-area or national conferences,<br />
trade divisions or committees established hereunder,<br />
or with subordinate bodies, shall be provided with a<br />
copy of this Article at the time negotiations are started so<br />
they will have notice of the approval necessary for a<br />
binding agreement.<br />
Sections 2 and 3 of this Article shall be broadly interpreted<br />
to carry out the intent and purpose of permitting<br />
