TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE PROMOTION
“HSBC GREAT OFFERS – LUCKY DRAW FOR CREDIT CARD USAGE”
(Attached to official letter No. 237/XTTM-QLXTTM issued by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency
on 01 March 2013)
1. The trader conducting the promotion:

2. Promotion name: “HSBC GREAT OFFERS – LUCKY DRAW FOR CREDIT CARD USAGE”.
3. Products and Services included in the Promotion: Credit Cards issued by HSBC Bank
(Vietnam) Ltd. (“HSBC” or “the Bank”). HSBC Credit Cards include: HSBC Premier MasterCard ® ,
HSBC Visa Platinum, HSBC Visa Gold, HSBC Visa Classic.
4. The promotional period is from 22 March 2013 to 19 Jun 2013, both days inclusive (“Promotion
Period”).
5. The promotion is available in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Da Nang, Can Tho and
Dong Nai.
6. The Promotion is undertaken with the mechanics of a Lucky Draw.
7. Eligible Customers: The promotion is applicable to all existing customers who hold HSBC Credit
Cards issued in Vietnam or new customers who apply for HSBC Credit Cards in Vietnam during the
Promotion Period. HSBC Business Credit Card and HSBC Staff Credit Cards are not eligible to enter
the Promotion.

- Total value of prizes awarded under the Promotion is VND 900,000,000 (Nine hundred million
Vietnam Dong).
9. Details of the Promotion:
9.1 Promotion entry mechanics
- If Eligible Customers successfully make purchase transactions using their HSBC Credit Cards at
merchant outlets, via phone or online during the Promotion Period and those transactions are

posted on HSBC’s system (“Eligible Transactions”), they will earn one chance to enter the lucky
draw for every VND 1,000,000 settled using their HSBC Credit Cards.
- Eligible Transactions do not include credit card activation and cash advance transactions, cancelled
transactions and those not yet posted on HSBC’s system.
- Standard Terms and Conditions of HSBC Credit Card in accordance with HSBC’s policy shall be
applied.
- HSBC reserves the right to reject any transaction that is ineligible, unclear, incomplete and/or not
accompanied by supporting documents.
- Every Customer’s number of lucky draw entry codes is based on the total value of all Eligible
Transactions that the customer made using his/her HSBC credit card during that round (“Total
Payment Value of Each Round”).
- During the Promotion Period, there will be three rounds to calculate the Total Payment Value of
Each Round according to the following mechanism:
Round 1: Applied for Eligible Transactions made and posted on HSBC’s system during the
period from 22 March 2013 to end 21 April 2013.
Round 2: Applied for Eligible Transactions made and posted on HSBC’s system during the
period from 22 April 2013 to end 20 May 2013, and those Eligible Transactions made in the
period of Round 1 but posted on HSBC’s system from 22 April 2013 to end 20 May 2013.
Round 3: Applied for Eligible Transactions made and posted on HSBC’s system during the
period from 21 May 2013 to end 19 June 2013, and Eligible Transactions made in the period of
Round 1 or Round 2 but posted on HSBC’s system from 21 May 2013 to end 26 June 2013.
If a purchase transaction was made during the Promotion Period and posted on HSBC’s system
after the date of 26 June 2013 (which is the final closing date for HSBC to identify customers’
lucky draw codes in the last Round 3), that transaction will not be eligible to enter this Promotion.
- The quantity of lucky draw codes generated in each round of the Promotion is each customer’s
Total Payment Value of Each Round rounded down to the nearest number divisible by one million,
divided by one million.

Lucky draw codes that Customer A earns for each round are calculated as follows:

- The Total Payment Value of Each Round is counted at the customer level. The value of Eligible
Transactions made by either primary credit cards or supplementary credit cards constitutes the total
payment value of Primary Cardholders.
- The quantity of lucky draw codes earned by each Customer is unlimited. Lucky draw codes are
recorded in HSBC’s system. The lucky draw codes generated in each round will be eligible for
lucky draw rounds 1, 2 and 3 respectively.
- One customer can win more than one prize during the Promotion Period.
- The lucky draw code is defined as a number constituted by The Customer Number (the first nine
digits), and followed by the order number of the lucky draw code the customer has earned. The
Customer Number for each Customer provided by the Bank is unique.
- Customers can contact HSBC’s Call Centre to learn their lucky draw codes, if needed.
9.2 Time, venue and method to identify the winners
- The three rounds of the lucky draw will be held at HSBC’s head office at the Metropolitan
building, 235 Dong Khoi Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City and witnessed by representatives of the
Ho Chi Minh City Department of Trade and Industry, the Bank and a group of customers. The three
lucky draw rounds have been tentatively scheduled as follows:
Lucky draw Round 1 for those customers earning lucky draw codes in Round 1, will be held on
03 May 2013 (tentative).
Lucky draw Round 2 for those customers earning lucky draw codes in Round 2, will be held on
03 June 2013 (tentative).
Lucky draw Round 3 for those customers earning lucky draw codes in Round 3, will be held on
10 July 2013 (tentative).
- Lucky draws will be conducted using the Bank’s system. The winner will be selected
spontaneously by the Bank’s software.
- The lucky draw results will be recorded in hard copy and verified by signatures from the witnesses.
9.3 Prize delivery
- The winners’ information will be posted on the Bank’s website (www.hsbc.com.vn) after two
working days of the lucky draw being successfully concluded.
- The Bank will notify prize winners via phone or post (according to the phone number and
correspondence address they registered at the Bank) within five business days after each lucky
draw round. The Bank shall not in any way be responsible for winners not notified due to out-of-

date contact information registered with the Bank, or for notification letters mislaid, damaged or
stolen during delivery.
- The Bank will credit the prize value to the winners’ credit card accounts at the latest on 19 July
2013 (i.e. after 30 days of the Promotion ending). If the winner holds more than one credit card
issued by HSBC, HSBC reserves the right to credit the prize value to any account held by the
winner.
- If the winner closes all his/her primary credit cards before the day of prize delivery, he/she will
forfeit his/her prizes and his/her prize(s) will be considered undisbursed.
9.4 For information queries
- Customers can visit any branch/transaction office of HSBC for details of the Promotion.
10. Responsibility of Public Announcement
- HSBC is responsible for announcing the Terms and Conditions of this promotion and the
information of the winners via at least one mass media channel and on the Bank’s public website
(www.hsbc.com.vn).
11. Other terms
- The winners will bear all the costs incurred for the receipt of their prizes and ad hoc Personal
Income Tax for the prize value (if any). The Bank will deduct ad hoc Personal Income Tax for the
prize value (if incurred) of the winner from the total prize value of that winner as stipulated by the
law. The final prize value that the Bank credits to the winner’s account is the prize value minus adhoc
Personal Income Tax (if any).
- With the customers’ consent, the Bank reserves the right to publish or display the name and picture
of the customer in announcements and advertisements in newspapers and other media without
paying any fee to the customer.
- HSBC is responsible for the accuracy of the generation of lucky draw codes during the Promotion.
If one customer is defined and notified as a winner by mistake by HSBC, the Bank is responsible to
deliver the prize to the misdefined winner. The lucky draw must be held transparently.
- In case of any dispute related to this promotion, the Bank will be responsible for solving the
dispute in the most satisfactory way for the customer. If it fails in this respect, disputes will be
solved according to the law.
- Once the promotion ends, the Bank will be responsible for reporting the implementation of the
promotion according to the law governing the report time, report document and supporting
documents (lucky draw result documents, lists of winners, acknowledgement of prize receipt or
those documents proving that the prizes have been delivered).
- In the case of uncollected prizes, the Bank is responsible for transferring 50% of the value of those
prizes to the State Treasury as stipulated on clause 4, term 96 of the Commercial Law.
- These Terms and Conditions follow the laws of Vietnam and are made in both Vietnamese and
English versions. In case of discrepancy and/or inconsistency, the Vietnamese version shall prevail.
