Attachment to Mr. Cairn's Message Regarding
Termination for Convenience of the P3 Contract for the Midtown Tunnel/Downtown Tunnel/MLK Extension Project
Ward Phelps Suffolk VA 23434 United States
Not only does VA act in unconstitutional ways on a regular basis, this will kill any signs of economic growth in HR!
DOD is migrating away from HR, housing market is in the pits, all taxes are way up while values are down;what is this
2/28/2012 communist government thinking?
David Watson Goode VA 24556 United States
I travel to Norfolk on a regular basis. The tolls are going to force me to use the High Rise which will become
extremely conjested with trafic from people like myself trying to to go around, or force to go through Richmond and
2/28/2012 come through the Hampton Roads tunnel making it more conjested.
Kelly Francis Portsmouth VA 23707 United States
Both my husband and I work in Norfolk but live in Portsmouth. I am a school teacher and my husband is in the Navy .
2/28/2012 We do not make alot of money. I will be looking for a new job if this goes into effect.
Brandi Johnson Newport News VA 23608 United States
Because I travel the tunnels on a daily basis and it's already hard enough as it is to get through them when traffic is at
its worst. Why add to the delay by adding tolls? Are the gas prices not burden enough for the people of Hampton
2/28/2012 Roads?
Frances Bond Portsmouth VA 23701 United States 2/28/2012 I think it is unfair to put heavy tolls on roads for private investors to make a profit when tax money is being used.
State of Virginia should accept its responsibility and add to the gas tax so that everyone is caring for our
Kenneth Bryant Portsmouth VA 23703 United States 2/28/2012 roads/tunnels. As currently planned, this is entirely unfair and unjust.
Keri Phillips portsmouth VA 23704 United States
I am a disabled parent with a disabled child. I have to go to Norfolk daily for doctor appointments and daily to my
daughter's school. If I was to go to norfolk to my daughter school and return in the morning on peak hours then
return in the afternoon to pick her up and come back again it would cost me 36.80 then if I had any doctor appoints
in day would cost at least 6.36 more if 4 times total for the week.. I would not be able to afford my appointment, or
would not be able to return home during the day and would have to sleep in the care while I waited to pick up my
daughter. And more importantly I would have to make a choice between food, and medicine to cover the 100 dollars
a month for the tolls and that is low if I had more appointmenst. I am very disapointed because it is setting us back
and keeping portsmouth segregated. People will think twice before coming to portsmouth to shop and visit. What a
2/28/2012 shame and great loss to our future!
JESSIE PEED Norfolk VA 23508‐3307 United States 2/28/2012 We already pay enough in personal property taxes, city taxes, and parking when you have to attend court in Norfolk.
RHONDA TROWER PORTSMOUTH VA 23701 United States 2/28/2012 I live in Portsmouth and work in Norfolk. Do not mind a toll but a toll that is almost $2, is outrageous.
Donna Griggin Hampton VA 23666 United States
I work at norfolk General Friday‐Sunday and I leave in Hampton. gas prices are already to high, and now you want me
2/28/2012 to pay a toll. It's not right!
harold williams chesapeake VA 23320 United States
i believe the gov. manuplates the price of the fuel and that shouldbe sufficient enough to build many roads and
bridges along with all pay and perks.thank you for letting me say this.tolls are just another tax increase to support
2/28/2012 uncontroled spending.by both state and fed. govs.....
Jamie Growney Chesapeake VA 23320 United States
Our son and his growing family lives in Portsmouth and his job is in Norfolk. They have tried to sale their two
2/28/2012 bedroom condo and he is not able to do so. The area is over taxed and over priced for the amenities offered.
Kandy Drake Virginia Beach VA 23464 United States
I live in Virginia Beach but I work in Suffolk and the gas prices have already put a big burden on those of us who have
to commute and I do not believe we should have to pay additional tolls just because our jobs are in other areas of
Hampton Roads. I do believe if this toll goes through there will be a bigger increase in unemployment because people
2/28/2012 won't be able to afford to travel to their jobs
Joseph Growney Chesapeake VA 23320 United States 2/28/2012 Our son lives in Portsmouth and works in Norfolk. This is going to be a hardship on his growing family.
LeAnn Amory‐Wallace Suffolk VA 23433 United States
As a Realtor, I feel it is important for potential home buyers to have access to all of Hampton Roads with no
2/28/2012 additional costs.
Kawana Copeland Suffolk VA 23434 United States
My husband and I are both stationed at Naval Station Norfolk. We both drive separate cars through the tunnel
everyday, sometimes weekends. This would be another bill that we would have to accomodate each month and put
2/28/2012 a strain on our budget..
Sheila Johnson Portsmouth VA 23704 United States 2/28/2012 I live in Portsmouth and work full time in Norfolk and this daily toll would strain our family budget.
