Termination for Convenience of the P3 Contract for the Midtown Tunnel/Downtown Tunnel/MLK Extension Project
Bryant Gunn Norfolk VA 23509 United States
i am signing because it is the right thing to do. These tolls are really going to kill me as I have to go to Portsmouth, Va.
about 25 time a week on my job. A lot of my business is in Portsmouth, a good city. This is the most stupid thing that
ever has been done in the Tidewater area. It is going to kill Portsmouth and it will make it a ghost town because
nobody wants to pay those tolls. It makes me very upset to see something like this happen. The simple thing to do is
2/11/2012 just to raise the gas tax, gas is so high now that a few more cents won't maer. Thanks
Alexis Baucom Portsmouth VA 23703 United States
I live in Portsmouth and go to school in Norfolk. It's extremely hard to pay for classes, books, parking pass, and tolls
2/11/2012 now. It's going to be way to expensive.
Rusty Woods hampton VA 23664 United States 2/11/2012 I have to drive through the tunnels two‐three times a day. A toll would kill mu business.
Michael Twiford Suffolk VA 23435 United States
We do not need to pay to go to work everyday. This is completely unfair and in a weak economy, it is an extremely
2/11/2012 poor decision.
Margaret Padilla Portsmouth VA 23701 United States
Tunnel tolls will act to isolate many Portsmouth residents from the rest of Hampton Roads and hurt the economy of
2/11/2012 the entire area!
tracy bidnick portsmouth VA 23707 United States
family.. I have a family member who has chosen to be a public servant for the city of Norfolk... does he get a pass on
the toll..no!!!! he is doing a public job... but it will cost him to do that job, . I go to Norfolk when a family member is
at Norfolk Sentara(which is "the best" and then have to pay to visit and park there)business..we make many
deliveries that take us thru the tunnels and now we will have to decide if we should pass that on to our customers
along with the rising gas prices.. How much more do we have to endure!!! Looks like "we"(anyone) has no say in the
2/11/2012 maer!! we take it or what?????
Virginia Windsor Virginia Beach VA 23451 United States 2/11/2012 I would prefer a gradual raise in the gas tax to fund roads and public transportation.
William McClung Jr Norfolk VA 23507 United States
The cost of the tolls will be difficult for a lot of people. The state has not control over what those tolls will be.
2/11/2012 Nothing is being done to alliveiate the fact that you putting many of them out onto an outdated Hampton Blvd.
I have to travel through the tunnel on a regular basis. I am retired now and on a fixed income. I had to deal with tolls
on the tunnel for years while in college and during the first couple years of employment. I would rather see a $.03
per gallon gas tax than this. Please feel free to contact me.
J Johnson Chesapeake VA 23321 United States
raise the gas tax by 15cents and use that money to fund restoring highway infrastructure. Son't spend our money
2/11/2012 making another country richer for the next 50 years. That is stupid.
Bill Hunter Virginia Beach VA 23454 United States
Tolls will further fractionize the communities of the Tidewater. Talking for the cultural and arts community, folks will
be less likely to attend cultural and arts events in Portsmouth or vice versa Norfolk. We don't need this additonal
2/11/2012 reason not to attend events in our region.
Jean Koch Virginia Beach VA 23452 United States 2/11/2012 These tolls are bad for our region. Please consider a raise in the gas tax which would be paid by all in the state.
Renata gach‐sanin portsmouth VA 23707 United States 2/11/2012 this will place a financial hardship on our family!
I have to drive to Norfolk for work some me 2 different mes in a 24 hour period
norman williams suffolk VA 23434 United States 2/11/2012
Irene Terry Portsmouth VA 23703 United States 2/11/2012 Use a gas tax.
Robert Calhoun Chesapeake VA 23321 United States 2/11/2012 why are state officials afraid to let the people's voice be heard in this issue, let the people vote.
Lynette Peterson Virginia Beach VA 23456 United States
I live in Va Bch and commute to Portsmouth during the week for work. The tolls they are proposing are outrageous!
2/11/2012 There are other ways to pay for the new tube and repairs!
William Davis Suffolk VA 23435 United States
The tolls will be very costly for Hampton Roads citizens especially for people on fixed incomes. The guaranteed
2/11/2012 increase per year to a private company is outrageous since it's a state public infrastructure project .
John Bennett Yorktown VA 23692 United States 2/11/2012 Tolls will affect me going to work.
Rodrick Barnes Newport News VA 23608 United States 2/11/2012 I will not be able to afford to get to work everyday through the tunnel to Norfolk.
James Strudwick Suffolk VA 23435‐2818 United States
Industrialized nations nearly all use fuel tax to fund road projects and maintenance, why not us? It's the only
2/11/2012 equitable way to make ALL the people who use the roads pay for them.
