Termination for Convenience of the P3 Contract for the Midtown Tunnel/Downtown Tunnel/MLK Extension Project
Brenda Thacker Portsmouth VA 23704 United States
I,m signing this petition for the simple reason we can't afford these tolls. Owning a business we run through the
tunnels 3 to 4 times a day .Company Truck runs to the job site, I have to run to pick up materials and back again to
run Lunch to them and so on and so on. Heaven help Us if we have more than 1 job a day that requires running
2/8/2012 through the tunnel.
Lisa Gurkin Salisbury MD 21801 United States
I live on the Eastern Shore of MD but grew up in Portsmouth, VA and have family in the Hampton Roads Area and
2/8/2012 travel there frequently to visit. Please block tolls in Hampton Roads!
Enough is enough..higher taxes now more tolls...The elected officials need to start getting rid of the excessive junk
programs and start putting the tax dollars to use to improve the infrastructure and update our school systems...STOP
Harl Chesley Chesapeake VA 23323 United States 2/8/2012 TRYING TO BE SO DAMN POLITICALLY CORRECT use my tax dollars to the benift of those that do pay taxes.
michael manguba Portsmouth VA 23703 United States
because, the project.is mainly to keep Barc, and bases "happy to keep them here" and for proper evac...for
them.most traffic is miltary in the tunnel. So why don:t the goverment, split, the bill and city.citys always raises taxes
etc..but broke .why wont they dig into some of that money ,they gain every year,in the plus.Instead .even out, for
year .or too.control some of the wastefull spendingDONT PUT The BILL ON TAX PAYERS AGAIN.while private funders
2/8/2012 are going to profit off the project.I WILL NEVER SHOP OR GO TO NORFOLK EVER ..UNLESS FOR WORK.
Josette Walker Norfolk VA 23523 United States
I am a native of Virginia. I recall voting in the lottery to cover the cost of the state roads and public schools. Once
the lottery was voted in its seems the state stopped its contributions to these two funds; each year the state
decrease its allocation of funding for schools and roads. The Virginia Beach tolls were removed because funding was
met and a new program was in force (the lottery.) Just to inform the public that they will have to absorb the cost?
2/8/2012 Oh, by the way, who elected these officials into office? Is this a public spanking?
Larry Champion Portsmouth VA 23707‐2922 United States
People in Richmond need to know that Hampton Roads residents don't want their taxes going up by the states stupid
actions. Along with local governments raising every fee/tax known to man, now the state government is raising taxes
2/9/2012 on a select group of people. When will it stop?
Adam Saich Portsmouth VA 23703 United States 2/9/2012 I travel through the tunnels multiple times a day. Also, traffic is already horrible enough!
Debbie Champion Portsmouth VA 23707‐2922 United States 2/9/2012 All Virginians drive on Virginia's highways. Why single out a select few to pay for them?
Sherry Warren Portsmouth VA 23704 United States 2/9/2012 I live in Portsmouth, work in Norfolk. I am a retiree, working so I can have health insurance...I need all my paycheck!
Hello; I located to Tidewater/Hampton Roads in 1980 and vividly remember the burden that the tolls placed on
private and commercial owners at that time largely due to backups. This time the burden will fall on our incomes. I
work for the city of Norfolk and just driving round trip five times per week it adds up to approximately $972.00. We
have not had a pay raise in four years, the economy has taken $80.000 of our savings and now this. This could
possibly have devastang effects on our future.
2/9/2012 Thanks Government for the People. Yeah Right
James Greene Chesapeake VA 23321 United States 2/9/2012 Get real...
Carol Paxton Hampton VA 23605 United States 2/9/2012 This toll would put undue burden on residents that must travel the tunnel daily.
Kyle Davis Virginia Beach VA United States
Live in VB drive to Newport News everyday during rush hour. I agree with raising taxes to improve roadways but not
2/9/2012 pay tolls on top of that everyday!!
Brian Magee Portsmouth VA 23707 United States 2/9/2012 The amount of this toll is ridiculous!
JOHNNY RODGERS MOYOCK NC 27958 United States 2/9/2012 I work at the naval hospital and transit the tunnel daily.
Wallace wilson Portsmouth VA 23704 United States 2/9/2012 The people should have a chance to vote on it before a deal is made.We live here.It will cost us the most.
Brooke Liniger Portsmouth VA 23703 United States
I commute from Portsmouth to Norfolk daily for work and am not willing to pay tolls, which will decrease my
2/9/2012 monthly income, which isn't enough to make ends meet as it is!
Ashley Welch virginia beach VA 23453 United States
I am a resident of the HR area and I travel these roads almost EVERYDAY!! I can barely afford to put food on the table
2/9/2012 for my children let alone pay MORE money to the state of VA.
