SCIENCE BETWEEN POTENTIALITY AND ACTUALITY<br />

Although the results of scientific achievements have a primary tendency<br />

toward progress and realization of the highest human values, at the<br />

same time they can also have adverse, even catastrophic consequences. The<br />

utilitarian and reductionist reasoning of scientists may bring into question<br />

the survival of human kind and planet itself. The existing predominantly<br />

heteronomic prohibitions, although necessary, are not sufficient unless the<br />

consciousness of the scientists themselves is raised to the level of adhering<br />

to general humanist moral postulates and postulates of scientific criticism.<br />

In complex times of intensifying social, technical and technological effects<br />

of science it is necessary to (bio)ethically codify the issue of the social<br />

responsibility of scientists, which due to its adequate interiorization has to<br />

be an integral part of their paideia since the very beginning. An adequate<br />

interdisciplinary and pluri-perspective approach should result in a different<br />

and more delicate attitude of the scientists themselves towards potentiality of<br />

their own scientific discipline and significance of its performance; however,<br />

they should not become a reason to abandon important projects.<br />

DJECA PROMATRAČI U KRUGU NASILJA<br />

I SOCIJALNA PODRŠKA<br />

Svakodnevno smo suočeni s rastućim difuzno-agresivnim načinima<br />

ponašanja, te zaprepašteni učestalim razbojstvima koja su počinili maloljetnici.<br />

Nasiljem nisu obuhvaćeni samo napadači i žrtve, nego i djeca koja<br />

promatraju nasilje. Izrazito stresno proživljavaju suosjećanje sa žrtvom<br />

ili i sami sudjeluju u nasilju: navijanjem, odobravanjem, uključivanjem.<br />

»Promatrači« su treća skupina vršnjaka koji indirektno i sami sudjeluju<br />

u činu zlostavljanja. Mogu pomagati i ohrabrivati osobu koja inicira zlostavljanje,<br />

iz straha se čak pridružuju nasilnicima kako bi sebe zaštitili ili<br />

mogu suosjećati sa žrtvom. Na osnovi iznesenih problema cilj je istraživanja<br />

bio ispitati djecu promatrače nasilja koliko suosjećaju sa žrtvom, a<br />
