Even though genetics implies that there are four ways of lining chromosome information regarding gender (XY, XX, XXY, XYY), there are countless ways of manifesting these specific genetic pieces of information. Gender alternations are frequently referred to as disorders. The author questions the justification of this and other similar statements. Questioning common generalisations and simplifications of the issues concerning genetics, the author implies that gender issues are only one example of such flawed common practice. A change of perspective concerning gender and many other biogenetical issues is needed not only in bioethics, but with the aim to implement this change in the other sciences through bioethics.
