medicine, a ovi ogledi uglavnom opravdavaju u sličnom postotku.
Zaključak: Potrebno je povećati interes za bioetiku kod studenata medicine
na našem fakultetu i unaprijediti nastavu, posebno kada je riječ o
kliničkim aspektima ispitivanja i razvoja lijekova.
THE ROLE OF PHARMACOLOGY EDUCATION
ON THE AWARNESS OF MEDICAL STUDENTS
OF THE RISK OF ADVERSE DRUG REACTIONS
Introduction: We aimed to assess the attitudes of undergraduate medical
students towards bioethical issues in drug development and research.
Material and Methods: In this cross-section study, two samples of
students were questioned on selected bioethical issues: a self-completed
questionnaire was delivered to 106 out of 511 students of the 3rd year
(20.74%), and 80 out of 508 students of the 6th year (15.75%). Total response
rate was 85.42%.
Results: Both 3rd and 6th year students similarly estimated to be informed
on bioethics (median value 3, scale 1–5; P > 0.05), indicating traditional
learning methods as the main source of information (approximately
60%, both). However, in both groups small number of participants answered
correctly to questions on major bioethical issues and basic principles
of biomedical ethics. Both groups generally do not want to participate as
volunteers in clinical studies. Third year students estimate characteristics of
the tested drugs and financial compensation as possible motives for participation
in these studies significantly higher (P
